[SOGo] Other Domains are visible in the calendar sharing view

Hey,

When I go into the calendar sharing window, to add a user, I get
autocompletion for every domain which is present on the SOGo instance, not
just the same domain.

Users are added through SOGoUserSources (type is ldap, isAddressBook is
NO). SOGoDomainsVisibility is not set.

When I write an E-Mail, i get no autocompletion at all.

Any idea how to stop this behavior?

[SOGo] Recurring requests to endpoint /SOGo/so/passwordRecoveryEnabled

Hello SOGo team,

I'm seeing several POST /SOGo/so/passwordRecoveryEnabled requests, coming
from multiple IPs from the internal network. These average about 5 to 10
requests per minute. There is no indication of malicious activity, as only
this endpoint is contacted and it comes from several internal IPs, which
makes me suspect this is caused by the way this software functions. I
looked up this issue online, including other threads on the mailing list
but found nothing so far, anyone has a clue on what might be happening?

I'm using sogo-5.10.0 with nginx. The webmail runs fine, however each time
I refresh my webmail homepage, the following line appears in my sogo's
error.log and the log file grows dramatically.

[SOGo] Keep multiple (older) smime certificates

Hey,

My smime certificate expired and I wanted to add my new one to SOGo. The
problem is, I can only add one smime certificate at a time. So, when I add
the new one, I cannot read my old emails anymore. Is this a problem with
SOGo or am I just blind?

Hello Frank,

The documentation has been fixed.
A collateral effect of using SOGoURLEncryptionPassphrase is that logging also 
doesn't contain the user nameExactly, but this is the goal. You have to decrypt 
username with a script :
- Base64 decode of a part of the url
- AES 128 decode with the good passphrase

Are you on windows? If yes, you may create your account using the control panel instead of outlook. Go to “Control Panel” -> “User Accounts” -> “Mail (Microsoft Outlook)” -> “Show Profiles”

Hello,

it turned out that our LDAP Server (a samba4 DC) goes down for a short 
time to run a backup of its internal database. When an EAS Client 
(iPhone in that case) connects / is connected during that downtime, the 
following error shows up in the SOGo logfile:

It's still strange that SOGo doesnt try again immediately after that 
fail, for the LDAP is only down for a minute.


Nevertheless, we now turned off the shutdown of the LDAP server because 
the backup is well running without the shutdown. We'll see if that fixes 
the problem.

This happens at irregular intervals, it can take 2 weeks or 2 or more 
months for it to occur. In Thunderbird, these calendars are marked 
with an exclamation mark and are grayed out. If you restart TB, these 
calendars are completely gone. They are also no longer visible in the 
SOGo web frontend and must be re-subscribed. However, when 
re-subscribing, the originally set colors are taken over again.


I have the feeling this only happens with users who have their iPhones 
synced via EAS / SOGo-ActiveSync, though i cannot confirm this 100%.


Anyone having an idea? Any recommendations to dig further into the issue?

I would also like to know a good way to mass export to a searchable PDF etc. I 
know that on outlook desktop with adobe standard you can mass export as a large 
searchable PDF, I know Thunderbird let's you save as file but note sure if that 
works if the cert expires. Depending on the computer OS you can use different 
tools for conversion so I second this.

add the new one, i will of course, lose access to my old mail through sogo.

[SOGo] Issues setting up imap service

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to set up a SOGo system with Postfix (3.4.13) and Dovecot 
(2.3.21) on a server running Plesk (18.0.62)/ Ubuntu(20.04.6). With the help of 
this E-Mail (https://www.mail-archive.com/users@sogo.nu/msg06244.html), I have 
already managed to send appointment invitations via an SMTP master account. Now 
setting up the IMAP service is causing me problems.

After switching to the SOGo email module in the web frontend, I end up in a 
white, blank screen. Despite the activated debug flags, the SOGo logs are not 
showing any errors or warnings.

However in the dovecot logs i get the following message line:
dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected: Connection closed (no auth attempts in 120 
secs): user=<>, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, TLS handshaking: Connection 
closed, session=<1H61QN0beMh/AAAB>>

I recognize, that the user is empty, but i dont know how to fix this issue. In 
addition, I'm not receiving any cancellations or acceptances of appointments 
that have been sent via a calendar entry.

Both the Postfix server and the Dovecot server work fine with an Outlook, which 
i use as a test mail client.

Hopefully this is the last problem I have to work on. Any ideas on how to fix 
this? I will provide additional logs or config-files once I know what is needed 
to resolve this issue.

If you are looking for an easy solution to install SOGo then I recommend 
you to look at https://iredmail.org/


Another option would be https://mailcow.email/ I never used this one but 
heard good things about it.

No, I don't have OCSAdmin settings, I thought its optional and the
documentation is too confusing.

I use both versions of course. 

The error messages don’t have anything to do with the protocol of the 
web-request (think about 7 layer ISO modell…).

 

Lets specify: 

The ZEG-5.1.0 is supposted to work without modifications, it doesn’t.

"SERVER HAS FAILED AND IS DISABLED UNTIL TIMED RETRY" points to a Memcached 
Problem, but Memcached is installed correctly and modifying the conf file 
doesn’t change anything.

There is probably something wrong with the current ZEG build. Could some of the 
people who created it, check it.

 

 

SOGoRootPage Login from '192.168.122.12' for user 'smbuser' might not have 
worked - password policy: 65535  grace: -1  expire: -1  bound: 0

Is such a generic error message (“might not have worked”: how can that be a 
computer term). 

I turned on all debug options in sogo.conf, but don’t get any messages. I don’t 
think I get log entries on Samba DC too, so I can’t even check if LDAP requests 
are made.

 

Anybody?

course).

The first error message hints on a missing or wrong OCSAdminURL entry.

email client.

* You hand out your credentials to Microsofts servers
* Those servers are downloading every email

* While installing you agreed, that Microsoft can use that data/emails

Second:

on Apple devices, look for "Delegation" and activate. IIRC in the
account settings, probably under "advanced" (or some such).

[SOGo] Shared calendars via CalDAV

Dear fellow people,


Maybe you can give me some advice with that problem. When I add my account
via CalDAV to any device, I only see my calendars. Shared (subscribed)
calendars from other people of the same instance are not present via
CalDAV. In the SOGo web interface, they are available.


For clarification, I am running SOGo 5.10.0 and I tried it on my MacBook
Pro (Sonoma 14.5) and my iPhone 15 Pro Max 17.5.1. When I use EAS on the
iPhone, it shows the shared calendars.


Any idea?

SOGo does not support PGP.
At least 5 years ago, I saw an SOGo instance, which was used together 
with mailvelope.

Not sure this still works.

SOGo supports S/MIME in some way.
But it is still worked on S/MIME in SOGo.
We don't use the S/MIME implementation, because currently:
* SOGo can only store one certificate at a time. Therefore you can not 
read old encrypted emails (== encrypted with an expired certificate).

* SOGo stores the private key unencrypted in its database.
* SOGo memorizes public keys only for addresses which exist in the 
personal addressbook (== used for sending encrypted emails).

I'm currently using MailCow, which includes SOGo, and I'm looking to secure it 
as much as possible. During my first-time experience with this self-hosted

Is there an easy way to use OpenPGP with SOGo? It seems that support is only

[SOGo] Thunderbird invitation problem

Hello,
When I invite someone to an event, the person has possibility accept or 
decline the event in email in Thunderbird.
But if the given person looks into the calendar in Thunderbird and 
synchronizes the calendars, the given event appears here, but there is 
no possibility to accept or reject it.
And now when a person returns to the email in thunderbird, there is 
written that the event has already been processed.
On the sogo website, a person can still accept or reject an event, but 
not in thunderbird.


Can you help me?

The error message states, that while accessing your mysql database the 
connection got closed.

That can either happen,
* if you have a network problem
* if your database is shut down/killed

Yes, I was wrong, yesterday I unfortunately observed this issue again 
with the same nightly. I can also confirm that the cause is that not all 
SOGo processes are stopped when stopping SOGo via systemctl. However, 
even using kill -9 for killing all worker processes I could find with ps 
didn't help. I must have overlooked something.




Kill -9 works, but it can take 30 seconds, till those workers are gone.

MariaDB Backup should contain all data for calendars, address books and 
settings.

Did you backup the data too, or only the table structure?
(You can see the data inside "INSERT" statements.)

Good news is that I have the calendar and contact information back. I 
have an assumption what went wrong.


I recently added the entries OCSAdminURL, OCSStoreURL OCSAclURL, and 
OCSCacheFolderURL. Due to an error message in the logs, I added 
OCSAdminUrl. At the same time, I saw entries referring to localhost 
being used for cache, so I tried pointing OCSStoreURL OCSAclURL, and 
OCSCacheFolderURL to the database server, but without copying any data 
from localhost to the database server.


I assume that the data stored in the tables OCSStoreURL OCSAclURL, and 
OCSCacheFolderURL (or at least one of them) contain SOGo calendar and 
contact information. If my assumption is right, then of course my 
account couldn't show the calendar and contact information anymore after 
pointing to an empty database.


Does this explanation seem correct?

BTW: While fiddling around with the database, I managed to create a 
situation where the file for the table sogo_sessions_folder got lost (I 
swear I didn't delete it). Solution: I needed to drop the table, after 
which it was recreated.

latest Nightly Build?
The provided specifications concern the server, but performance depends on the

MariaDB Backup should contain all data for calendars, address books and 
settings.

Did you backup the data too, or only the table structure?
(You can see the data inside "INSERT" statements.)

FYI: With the current nightly, restarting sogo with systemd is working 
again.




I do not think that this has to do with the nightly build.
I only get those error messages, if stopping sogo didn't stop all 
workers, before it starts sogo again.

Then the sockets are still in use by an outdated worker.
This especially happens with long running workers, used for e.g. ActiveSync.
Therefore I stop sogo, then test with ps command if all workers are 
really stopped, before starting it again.
