Re: [videoblogging] Re: megaVideo
I agree with you. That is why I post some content to YouTube, hoping to draw people to my site. And being 'visible' is a good thing. I am going to be putting a clear logo throughout my videos from now on, so at least others will see where it is from and hopefully visit me. I suppose, some might get worked up over it, but my philosophy is that if you can't beat them join them. The site itself is getting huge traction, probably close to 25 million unique visitors each month by now. One can ignore that audience or accept the spammy ads and the questionable business model of the site but be able to at least control your submissions. Re: [videoblogging] audio out of sync with video when using iSight and QT Pro
You might try 'exporting' the video from QT Pro, saving as a different name. In the export function you have an option to save with DVCPro NTSC compression, frame rate of 29.97. I would also select 'best' for quality. This has saved the day for me recently when my audio was about 3 seconds out of sync with my video in FCP, but played fine in QTGood Luck On Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 8:23 AM, Clintus [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I recently noticed that when I shoot a video using the built in iSight camera with QT Pro that the audio is out of sync with the video. My recommendation would be to stay at a hotel with direct monorail access that is a decent property such as Ballys/Paris or MGM Grand. Other options that are close by and nice are Treasure Island/TI and Wynn Las Vegas provides a shuttle every 20 minutes from 8am to 8pm. Getting a cab is challenging from the convention center - especially at days end when everyone is heading out to dinner. A much nicer option that is walkable is the Renaissance on the opposite side of the convention center and the property is only about 3 or 4 years old so the rooms are nice and new, however, again, getting a cab at this property is challenging and I've had to wait upwards of 20 minutes to get one on a busy night. A big plus to this hotel is no casino and no smoking so its a lot calmer than most strip hotels. I'll most likely be staying at Planet Hollywood since I'm a Starwood Hotels member and they tend to upgrade their Gold and Platinum members and the walk next door to Paris/Bally's isn't too bad to catch the monorail to the convention center (10 min.). thanks all for your responses. A great help On 12/20/07, Brook Hinton [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: If your clip is very short you could try a strategy someone on Ken Stone's site uses - compress to photojpeg at as high a quality as you can while staying within the 100MB limit. Since photo jpeg doesn't compress temporally, you only end up going one pass through a temporal codec (whatever flavor of flash you tube is using). But this only works for a VERY short clip. Cutting your frame rate down to 15 should help too. I notice there's now an option to upload pretty gigantic files to You Tube using a program they offer for download, but it only runs on windows. WIth that option you could theoretically do photo jpeg or dv for longer clips. My best results so far on longer clips have been with h.264 even though You Tube claims they don't support it. Occasionally they'll reject an h.264 - it looks like these are usually close to but still under the 100MB limit, but I don't have enough data to know for sure that's the trigger. But it ends up in a low quality flash encode no matter what, so anything with detail and motion is just going to look like crap on YT. On the iphone, though, SOME of it looks pretty good - probaby because those particular clips are h.264 from a relatively high quality original upload. Re: [videoblogging] Re: What kind of Pro camera should I get?
For a few more cents worth I use a Sony Z1, which definitely has both good points and bad points. I have used a panasonic P-2 which I found to be absolutely great in good light, but goes to mud very quickly... I did not find it to be a good low light camera. I am watching the new Sony that is due out shortly. Both it and the new Panasonic out soon supposedly will use a new GOP that is intraframe rather than interframe compression. The new Sony will have interchangable lenses as well as overcranking and undercranking and multiple frame rates. Supposedly it will also be able to record in HD on tape and to a SD card at the same time. Price point is to be around 8,000 OK here comes the disclaimer.I have not seen the camera-have only 'heard' about it. Just food for thought.
