Would someone be willing to walk me through how to use the Kindle app by phone?
Hello. Would someone on this list be willing to talk with me by phone and show me how to use the kindle appp? I would also like to learn a few tricks on how to use safari more efficiently. And I would like to learn how to select text, copy and paste it. I learn better when someone walks me through it by phone, so I can ask questions as I go along. Please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Chasity -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: Location Services with Tap Tap See- where did you find them?
Usually just deleting and re-downloading the app solves the problem. Thanks, Don - Original Message - From: Donna merma...@bellsouth.net To: viphone@googlegroups.com Date: Thursday, July 4, 2013 6:42 pm Subject: Re: Location Services with Tap Tap See- where did you find them? Hi, The path that I stated before should lead you to Location Services. No you shouldn't have to have the app Tap Tap See open to find Location Services for the app. Yes, Red Laser and All Access need Location Services turned on, so that you are able to gather info from your general area. Photos and camera doesn't necessarily need Location Services turned on. All this does if Location Services are turned on for Photos and camera is to stamp your coordinance on the photos info. If this info is presented to the general public and if the photo happends to have been taken in or around your house, your address can be obtained. Here is the instructions to get you to Location Services once again.. From the Home screen of your device Go To Settings and double tap to open. Swipe down to Privacy Swipe to Location Services this should be the first in the list. You should hear Voiceover read Location Services ON -Button- Double tap to open Location Services and then Swipe down until you hear Tap Tap See. Double tap on Tap Tap See to turn on Location Services. The list of apps will also include camera, photos, blogger, Safari, Seri, All Access, Red Laser, Maps, and any other apps that you may be using that would require your location to give you the best possible info and results. Not all of the apps listed will necessarily need Location Services turned on. This will depend on how frequently you use the app. For example, I have Location Services turned OFF for Seri, because I have disabled Seri because I refuse to use the comedian! But I have Location Services turned ON for TuneIn Radio, so that I am able to gather info on my local radio stations. Donna It's not there for me- I even launched the app to see if that would cause it to show up, but IT'S still not there. Should it be there regardless of whether location services were turned on during installing or licensing or whatever? I have a iPhone4, does that explain the difference in what you are seeing and what is available on my phone? Under a different path- General/Restrictions/Privacy- location services is 'dimmed'- but don't exactly know what that really means. Under the location path you mentioned, I wonder if All Access, Camera, Photos, and Red Laser really require location services? After rolling the dice when you go through the boxes and VO announces the boxes as being labled as T1, T2, T3 etc this is the same as when VO will announce the boxes as properly labeled 1-9. So in my observation of playing the game on a daily basis and the game responding differently with VO with any game play on any given day I can say that this is a flaw in the game itself. You could try clearing the game from the app switcher before opening the game to play. This helps sometimes but isn't a cure all fix. Happy rolling! RE: maps.
Hi Jack, I am not aware of an app like that and I assume you are looking for a map app since you are asking this on the Viphone list. Even if this existed, I think it would be very difficult to display an entire state on a 3.5 screen or even a 4 screen if you have an iPhone 5. For something like this I prefer the good old tactile method which I know may not be not what you are looking for, it has nothing to do with iOS and it requires a friend or family member who is willing to put in a bit of time for you. Basically, go and get a paper map of the particular State or, if you like the entire USA. Also get a tube of that glue stuff Maxiaids and many other places sell for marking stuf, after it hardens you can touch it and feel the lines and dots. This way a sighted person can put dots on cities, they could make lines to delineate the borders/outlines of States etc. They could even make large dots and smaller ones to indicate how large the cities are, there are a lot of possibilities. A friend once made me a map of Vancouver that way outlining where the coast and the water was, the Fraser River, downtown and the various cities that make up metro Vancouver. It gave me a really nice understanding and visual image of how this was all laid out. How to adjust app notification settings (like Viber) on Nokia Lumia 710 (Windows Phone, 7.5)
Hi all, How does one change notification settings for apps like Viber and Whatsapp on Nokia Lumia 710 (Windows Phone)? For instance, when a call is received on Viber, the phone does not ring. There is only a single notification sound and the phone only starts ringing when you open Viber. This is a nuisance since many times, you are away from your phone and you may not hear the single notification sound. So, how does one change the setting so that the phone rings continuously when there is an incoming call on Viber, just like it happens on other platform devices like iOS and Android? Also, is there something like a notification settings menu or something of that sort for adjusting notification settings for individual apps on Lumia 710 (Windows 7.5)? Re: Sendero's i-phone gps app
I found the following podcast on this app: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90046615/CBT-055-BlindEducator-SeeingEyeGPSDemo-64kb.mp3 -Original Message- From: Joanne Chua Sent: Thursday, July 04, 2013 7:43 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Sendero's i-phone gps app Hi there, Firstly, i congrets Sendero for the success of developing/creating such a gps/map/app for the blind. F First at all, i appreciate everyone opinions and views on this matter. I'm not, Agree nor disagree with any side of the arguement. The reason why i brought up the email, is to give a different angle of the discussion, looking it from different parts of the world, in terms of how one can get access, and one may access the app/map/gps whichever one fancy to call it. I think, the original email is not an open fire against Sendero or any of the sorts. In Gregg's email, it states very clear why he got such opinion and views on the Sendero app/map/gps, and i can understand why. Lets be honest here, how many of us here truely go to the developer website and read in details about what the app has to offer before purchasing the app? Just because it is a purpose build app/map/gps for the blind therefore, it should have full on 100% praise on the app/map/gps? I think, it is about time to have more of a constructive discussion as to why, and why not, instead of because it is from Sendero, or because its purposely build for the blind, thereofre we need to support it, or not supporting it. As someone who traveling a lot, both within Austrlasia and different parts of the world, i don't see why Sendero can't include other maps in the thing. One would think it will be much easier to include the choice of other maps, considering its on subscription base. e.g. North American and Europe map for $99 per year, or North America maps only for $69, and some other option like if you want to travel from Australia to America, and only wish to be there for 32 days, you can subscribe to the app for $15 for 30 days or such. Frankly speaking, what i found with the Sendero arguement, it has turning to become Apple vs Freedom Scientific arguement, as some anti Apple blind user that could point out, in some other blind list, Freedom Scientific keeps blind people employ therefore i don't see why i should support Apple who don't employ blind people. Now, how true is that statement? for some blind people they believe that its so true that they can't see any alternative but uses Jaws and WindowXP, and using Talks with their very old Nokia Phone. As somebody else pointed out, it clearly states on the Sendero website that a subscription is required and this information is also contained in the app description. In any case, here is the definition of a Bait and Switch which typically applies to retail products, it involves false advertising as well as 2 products, one as the bait and one, more expensive one, as the switch: Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud used in retail sales. first, customers are baited by merchants' advertising products or services at a low price, but when customers visit the store, they discover that the advertised goods are not available, or the customers are pressured by sales people to consider similar, but higher priced items (switching). The intention of the bait-and-switch is to encourage purchases of substituted goods, making consumers satisfied with the available stock offered, as an alternative to a disappointment or inconvenience of acquiring no goods (or bait) at all, and reckoning on a seemingly partial recovery of sunk costs expended trying to obtain the bait. It suggests that the seller will not show the original product or service advertised but instead will demonstrate a more expensive product or a similar product with a higher margin I find it unfortunate that so many people have so much bad stuff to say about a company and a product which most of them haven't even tried and which has been keenly anticipated by a lot of blind iPhone users. Let's hope that we will soon hear testamonies and reviews from people who are actually using the app and who point out its good sides for a change. This almost

I'd hold off until Apple comes out with their new technology phones I just heard about this morning on the news. iTunes and Most Compatible Screen Reader
I use ZoomText 10 and although it is better than past versions, it is unable to read anything presented in the iTunes Store screens. That information appears to be graphical as opposed to conventional text characters so I'm wondering which screen readers are able to read it. As my vision continues to decline, I'm starting to think about screen reader alternatives but I want to learn one that is best suited to read this graphically-presented text. I expect we'll see this trend continue since I guess doing this stuff graphically looks really cool which seems to be the driving factor in the marketplace. I use Amazon to purchase my music and was disappointed to learn last night that in order to download those tracks to my computer, their old mp3 downloader program no longer works and I had to install their desktop Cloud Player. This Cloud Player almost makes iTunes seem very accessible. It presents everything graphically except for the conventional menu accessed by the button at the top left. ZoomText can't read any of the content so I'm wondering how other screen readers work in this environment. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer. Groundwire SIP Client, was: How to adjust app notification settings (like Viber) on Nokia Lumia 710 (Windows Phone, 7.5)
Hi Chris, Just thought I point out that while VoIP apps may not ring, Groundwire from the developer Acrobits (see link and app description below) will send a push notification which allows you to answer an incoming VoIP call even if the app is removed from the app switcher. This of course requires you to have an inbound VoIP number registered with a service and then to set up this service in the Groundwire app which allows you to set up multiple VoIP accounts. I have setup a VoIP Stunt account for outgoing calls and I use SIP2SIP for my incoming VoIP number which I obtained from Flynumber.com ($2.95 a month) with unlimited forwarding to my SIP2SIP account. It works like a charm, Groundwire is fully accessible, but at $9.99 it's not cheap as apps go. Here is the link for Groundwire in the app store, there is also a slightly less expensive app called Acrobits Softphone for $6.99, but I decided to spend the extra $3 and get their full featured business caliber SIP client: Groundwire in the App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/groundwire-business-caliber/id378503081?mt=8 Description *** Featuring Video calls *** Check out the video tutorial and knowledgeable article at the links below. http://www.acrobits.cz/hesk/knowledgebase.php?article=62 http://www.acrobits.cz/91/video-calling-on-acrobits-softphone-and-groundwire Designed from the ground up with the mobile user in mind, Groundwire is the first mobile SIP Client capable of replacing your desktop phone. Combining all the features business users need (see below) with intuitive features created with the mobile user specifically in mind (number rewriting, address book matching, NAT Bridge and more), Groundwire will quickly have you wondering how you survived without it before. Make an in app purchase to add G.729 for great performance over 3G networks *SIP Log for troubleshooting Groundwire fans, please rate Groundwire or leave a review. If you have an issue with Groundwire, please contact our support even if you leave a review stating the problem. We are unable to respond to reviews so even if your issue is simple to resolve, we have no way of letting you know. Groundwire is highly configurable so problems that seem insurmountable may just require a couple of adjustments to the settings. ***NOTES - IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ*** SIP - Groundwire is a SIP Client, not a VoIP service. You must have service with a VoIP provider or PBX that supports use on a standard SIP client to use it. Google Voice - Though we have integrated GoogleVoice, Groundwire's main use is as a SIP client. You can set up Groundwire to initiate GoogleVoice calls through other types of numbers, but to get the full functionality of Groundwire, you need to have GoogleVoice linked to a SIP Account. VoIP over 3G - Be aware that some mobile network operators prohibit or restrict the use of VoIP over their network. They may prohibit the use of VoIP or impose additional fees and/or charges when using VoIP over their network. By using Groundwire over 3G, you agree to abide by any restrictions your cellular carrier imposes and agree that Acrobits will not be held responsible for any charges, fees or liability imposed

Re: Questions about several topics
Hi Chasity, To select text, you use a pinching gesture. You pinch outward to select text, and pinch inwardly to deselect text. It's honestly a really confusing gesture, which is why i hardly ever use it, and just use a bluetooth keyboard. As far as copying the pasting text into another document, you use the order. To access that, rotate 2 fingers on the screen like you're turning a dial until you hear edit. Flick down with one finger until you hear copy, double tap, and then go to the document you want to paste into, use the order to select paste, and double tap. Secondly, when you set up your email, it should've set it up as imap, which will keep everything in sync across your phone and computer. I hope this helps. Re: Hijacking threads again from a group member's perspective
Actually the tap tap see discussion was about adding a feature to help people center the objectin the center of the screen which would possibly result in better results. Messages with subject lines about the Sendero Seeing Eye app end up talking about completely different topics; messages with subject lines about tap tap see feedback are actually about the regular camera app and on and on it goes. This is truly annoying on a list as busy as this one, It does not take a rocket scientist to start a new message with an appropriate subject line. If you do not understand what it means to hijack a thread it means replying to a message and going off on a different subject than that of the message to which you are replying. Even choosing to reply to a message, then changing the subject line does not help because those of us who have our messages organized by thread, still get that message sorted into the group that match the original subject line. So, if you what to talk about a topic that is different than the original thread, take the extra few seconds and hit compose instead of reply. Be thankful I am not a moderator because I would simply cancel people's access to the list after a couple warnings. Raul and Cara have given many, many warnings about this issue, one as recent as last week. The problem seems to come and go without any reason. I have been able to just work around the game. After I roll the dice and get its total result, every following tap on one of the nine buttons produce the tapped button itself changes its label and it simply becomes Button. RE: Questions about several topics
Chastity, I'll add a couple of comments to Daniel's reply below. Your questions involve the use of the rotor, that's spelled r o t o r, not order as Daniel stated in his message. The rotor is accessed by a gesture that is like turning a knob. What is presented when you access the rotor will be a function of where focus happens to be and what you have turned on to be available as rotor options in the settings menu. You access these settings through Settings, General, Accessibility, VoiceOver, Rotor. You select the various options by placing focus on each and double tapping. VoiceOver should announce selected for the ones you have marked as you cycle through the list. Selecting text is one of the most difficult things I've found on my iPhone. Daniel is correct about pinching out to select and pinching in to de-select text. I believe you should use the rotor to first set the level of text you desire to select. For example, you would place the rotor setting on words if you want to select a word at a time. Other choices you might consider could be lines or characters. Again, make sure you have everything turned on in settings that you want to be available in the rotor. After the text you want has been selected, you should cycle the rotor until VoiceOver announces Edit. Then you can swipe up or down with one finger for VoiceOver to announce the Edit options which are available. When it says copy, you would double tap to copy the selected text. When you get to the location where you want to put it, go to the rotor again by doing the knob turn gesture. It should still be on Edit but you can do the knob-turn gesture to confirm that. Then, you would do a one-finger swipe up or down until you hear paste and then you would double tap to paste it. I hope this helps but post back if you have other questions or if you come up with an easy way to make the text selection process work better. I'd love to hear it. Flick down with one finger until you hear copy, double tap, and then go to the document you want to paste into, use the orderto select paste, and double tap. Secondly, when you set up your email, it should've set it up as imap, which will keep everything in sync across your phone and computer. I hope this helps. RE: Questions about several topics
Hello Chasity, As far as copying and pasting is concerned, I will simply refer you to an excellent Podcasts or, as he calls them, demo-casts, from Garth from Australia which you find on his website along with many more very useful Podcasts covering a wide variety of topics. If you are a relatively new iPhone user, his Podcasts actually are very much setup to cover basic topics all the way to the more advanced stuff and there are already a total of 50 of them. You find them at the following URL: http://www.iBlindTech.com The one about selecting, copying and pasting text is Episode 12 from July 27, 2012 and the direct link to it is: http://www.iblindtech.com/democast/episode-12-selecting-copying-and-pasting- text.html As far as synchronizing your email and possibly contacts between your computer and iPhone, you should first find out whether your provider allows you to setup your email account as a POP account only or whether you can set it up as a IMAP account. If IMAP is an option or if you already have set it up as IMAP, you need the settings, then on your iPhone setup a new account and choose Other as the account type. On the next screen you can select to set it up either as a POP account or IMAP account, make sure you select IMAP and enter your information. Garth actually covers setting up an email account on the iPhone in Episode 8 of his demo-casts, but I haven't actually listened to it and don't know how much detail there is regarding things like POP versus IMAP versus Exchange Active Sync and so on. On your computer you would also have to reconfigure your email account and set it up as IMAP, once again, I can't tell you much as to how to do so unless I know which email client you are using. Hopefully it will be Outlook 2007, 2010 or 2013 in which case it's easy. If your provider only allows your account to be configured as a POP account, then you might want to consider setting up an Outlook.com or gmail account. I know changing email addresses is a pain in the neck, but in the long run you will be glad you did since a service like Outlook.com (which used to be Hotmail/Windows Live) or Gmail offers you much more flexibility also with respect to Contacts and if you ever switch providers your email will stay the same, you have it until the day you die and maybe by then your iPhone may even work in the after-life *smile*. I personally prefer to use Microsoft's Outlook.com service which would also give you an outlook.com email address, for example, chasity.jack...@outlook.com. If you were to sign up for this you would simply select Hotmail as the account type when you setup your email account on the iPhone (Apple hasn't caught up yet with the renaming of Hotmail first to Windows Live and now to Outlook.com). Microsoft uses Exchange Active Sync as the technology behind their service instead of IMAP and I like this because it takes care of email, contacts and calendars whereas if you have a gmail account and use Google Contacts you have to set up the email account as type Gmail and then setup another so-called CardDAV account to sync your contacts. If you want more help wit this feel free to contact me off-list at siegh...@live.ca and I'll walk you through how to get going. RE: iTunes and Most Compatible Screen Reader
Hi Alan, I am writing to you directly since while using a screenreader with iTunes is on topic for the list, I didn't want to start a message war about the merits of Jaws versus other screenreaders. The fact is that I have never used another screenreader except just a little bit of System Access to Go when I am doing something simple on a computer which doesn't have a screenreader installed. If buying Jaws and spending $200 every 2 years for the SMA which allows you to always download the latest version is not an issue for you, then I would say that it is still your best and most advanced option unless you want to switch to a Mac in which case you get Voiceover included. I love my iPhone, but when it comes to computers I am a Windows and Jaws person and probably always will be . Jaws is extremely advanced and while it has its issues, so does everything else. If you only need very basic access for email, the internet and iTunes then maybe NVDA or System Access will even do the trick for you and they are either free or relatively inexpensive. In my opinion they are free for a reason and I just think that something that is free most likely is not quite as good as something that costs money which means paid experts are at work to make it better all the time. That is also the reason why I don't have a problem paying Freedom Scientific my $200 or $250 every 2 years to renew my SMA which then gives me access to the next 2 major versions of Jaws. I need this for work and to be efficient and I don't expect Freedom Scientific to add features and improve Jaws for free, no business can work for free and pay their employees to do good work. Yes, Jaws is rather expensive, but the argument that wit Apple you don't have to pay for a screenreader is only somewhat true. Yes, you don't pay more as a blind person to buy the computer, but any Apple user pays more for the computer than you would for a Windows computer. The difference may not be quite as bit any more, but it still exists and if you pay $500 or $600 more for the hardware then this already covers half or more than half of what Jaws costs. Anyhow, that is my 2 Cents worth and as I said, had I put this on the list I would probably have started a huge discussion on how unfair it is that Freedom Scientific dares to charge all these poor blind people to get the latest version of their software and so on. Oh, and by the way, with the exception of a few little things Jaws works very nicely with iTunes and in my book iTunes 11 is absolutely fully accessible with Jaws 14. Things like redeeming a gift card in iTunes are a bit challenging, you may have to turn off the virtual cursor, but since it's so easy to do on the iPhone, I just don't bother doing it on the computer. The main interface is definitely easy to use and I actually quite like iTunes. There could maybe be some more shortcuts, for example, it would be nice if there were a shortcut for activating the iPhone button when your phone is connected rather than having to tab around to find it, but they are not huge issues. I think most people who have problems with iTunes just have not taken the time to learn how to use it. Jonathan's FS Casts go over just about everything and I guess you could always go to www.FreedomScientific.com/FSCast and find them if you want to hear a demonstration on how well this does work. RE: Deleting text messages and contacts
Hi Don, For your first question on how to delete a contact. You have to double tap on edit. Then flick right until you hear delete contact. You may have to play around to get it. The next question is how to delete text messages. All you have to do is flick down to the conversation then flick down. It should say delete. If not, use your roter and turn to actions. You will delete the whole conversations so be prepared. The last question is what the term buddy means. It just means the other party who is talking with you. So you will hear your conversation, then the buddy is the other person who responds to you. This Cloud Player almost makes iTunes seem very accessible. It presents everything graphically except for the conventional menu accessed by the button at the top left. ZoomText can't read any of the content so I'm wondering how other screen readers work in this environment. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer. RE: Deleting text messages and contacts
Hi Donald, To delete a Contact: Go into Contacts Find the Contact you want to delete and double tap on it Now find the Edit button at the top right of the screen Now do a 4-finger tap on the bottom half on the phone, this is the gesture which takes you to the last screen element which is the Delete Contact button. Note: Sometimes the 4-finger tap may stop just short of that, if you are not on the Delete Contact button just swipe right until you get to it or you could just swipe right all the way to begin with until you find it. As I said, if you are in the Contacts app, it will be the very last thing on the screen once you are in Edit mode. As far as deleting text messages is concerned, if you are running iOS 6 you could just use the new method to delete emails, text messages, songs etc. If you are in the main window of the Messages app just flick down or up with a single finger and you should hear Voiceover say Delete, now just double tap anywhere on the screen. If you don't want to use this gesture, there is a difference whether you delete an entire conversation or whether you want to delete individual messages in a conversation. In order to delete an entire conversation, make sure you are in the main list of conversations and that you are not in a conversation which will be the case if you double tap on it. Find the Edit button in this case it is at the top left of the screen. You know you are on the right screen if you have the Compose button at the top right. Once you double tap on Edit, a Delete switch button appears beside each conversation. Double tap on it and you will be asked to confirm, double tap again and the conversation is gone. Once you deleted all the conversations you want to delete, double tap on Done at the top left of the screen. Basically, the Edit button will become the Done button when you double tap it and when you double tap Done it will once again turn into Edit. If you want to only delete individual messages, double tap on the Conversation so you are on the screen where you can read the individual messages. Buddy message, by the way, refers to any message you receive from another person whether it is an iMessage or regular text message. If it is an iMessage, your own messages will be identified as Your iMessage, if it is a text message, it will be Your text message. Any reply is always Buddy message. Now you have an Edit button at the top left of the screen (opposite from where it is when you delete entire conversations). Now double tap on all the individual messages, both your own and the buddy messages, you want to delete. Voiceover will say selected before each one after you double tap it. Let's say you do this for 5 messages, now check the bottom left of the screen and you will find Delete, 5 button. Double tap this and those messages will be deleted from the conversation. There is also a Clear All button at the top left of the screen after you double tap on Edit. This will clear all messages from a conversation, but it will leave the entry for that person in your Conversations list. Moderator note - WAS Re: Questions about several topics
Hi, this is just a friendly suggestion that sending out several messages with a single question each is actually better in a list of this type. This is because there are so many members that some might be interested in answering question 1, while others are for question 2, and so on. If you send all the questions in one email, it makes it harder for all members to read your questions and answer them. Yes, this is a high traffic list, but it's still better in my opinion to just write a single question or topic in a new message. Also, while we are on the subject of subjects, it's not a good idea to reply to an existing message and hijack the thread into something totally different. So, it's better to start a new message for something totally different as well. I hope this helps. -- Raul A. mousekick correction
Sorry one correction in training mode while holding the phone in landscape mode yes the back button at the bottom left is visible, and if i turn voiceover off it works. Of course though it would be nice not to turn voiceover off and use the three finger swipe. I just thought of something, pausing writing this email to test my thought out. Ok i tried to double tap the screen using my three fingers holding and swiping but still no go. Hope you guys can fix this. Re: iTunes and Most Compatible Screen Reader
Just to say this actually went to the list. On 05/07/2013 17:26, Sieghard Weitzel wrote: Hi Alan, I am writing to you directly since while using a screenreader with iTunes is on topic for the list, I didn't want to start a message war about the merits of Jaws versus other screenreaders. Re: Are YOU Using the LookTel Recognizer?
No, I hardly ever use this app. In fact, I regret the purchase. One weekend, when I first acquired the app, I had sighted assistance in beginning to build a library. We couldn't figure out how to have the app recognize similar items. For example, flavors of the same brand of yogurt. It also didn't seem possible to have the app recognize the different kCups. :) I guess after the first weekend I kind of gave up on the app and fairly quickly alternative apps came out, which I found easier to set up use. If anyone has helpful tips guidance on how to use the app better, maybe I wouldn't regret the purchase. Re: labeling boxes for moving
I used index notecards; I brailled the room the box came from, then brailled a brief summery of what was inside. I used the packing tape to firmly secure the card in place. I suggest either using 2 labels for each box, or putting the label on the side of the box. Boxes are generally stacked up high, so it isn't convenient to read a label on top. :) HTH, Traci On Jul 5, 2013, at 1:43 PM, Richard Turner richard.turne...@gmail.com wrote: How about dymo tape braille labels? RE: Location Services with Tap Tap See- where did you find them?
Since you have Siri in your list of apps, we must be seeing the difference between a 4 and a 4s or 5. Subscription with Sendero GPS
BlankRose and Listers, There is a known bug as far as the subscriptions are concerned with the Sendero GPS app unless you have the iPhone 5 There is an issue on all devices except the iPhone 5, that the subscription button is not fully visible on the screen even though Voice Over can see part of it, you must use 3 fingers to swipe up to reveal the full setting page 2 of 2, at which point you can then double tap on the Subscription button to see your subscription. Re: A way of signing electronically, perhaps?
Hi there. I recommend that you do a Google search for Lifehacker and electronic document signing. They will give you a list of the top five apps which can be used for signing so that you don't have to print a document, scan it, and then email it or fax it. Docusign Ink. is very voiceover friendly, however placing your signature on the right part of the document you need to sign is something that I do not believe a totally blind person can do. This requires that you maneuver your signature to the right part of the document that you upload. Then you send the document to the person who needs to receive the signed document. I recently have had to sign several documents and got sighted assistance with one of them using this app. The app itself is voiceover friendly as I mentioned, but moving the signature to the right part was where I required assistance. Easysign Was another app I looked at, but I didn't care to try it because you only got three free signatures. Then you had to purchase additional signature capability. The first app I mentioned seems to be the best one even though it has pro features. Good luck. The fact that maps are through the Internet and not my device is a bummer. No cell phone carrier is available everywhere. Re: question abbout stem stumper
Hi Paula, I have the same problem when I play stem stumper. It must be a bug in the program or something. JoJo -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. RE: labeling boxes for moving
Hi Mickey, Why not wrap them in holiday gift wrap with Santa Clauses, angels and pine trees, can you image how surprised you'll be when you unpack it all... like Christmas in July just better *smile* OK, seriously, I would either use braille labels of some sort as well or do Digit-Eyes barcode labels. I guess it all depends on how much detail you want, e.g. would you be happy with Living Room 1, Living room 2 etc. or would you want information about the room it came from along with a detailed inventory of what is in the box. If you want really detailed information a barcode label might be best since you can use Digit-eyes to record a description.
