Hi all. A week or two ago someone mentioned a find words game on this list. I
looked for it on the app store, but wasn’t sure exactly what to look for. Any
help for this old memory would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Blessings!

RE: A couple of SE questions

2020-06-01 Thread kitty hevener
I had a similar situation last year. None of my keys would work. Found that
doing a reset solved the issue. I have no idea why it happened. Good luck.

Subject: A couple of SE questions

Hello all,

On all of my other iPhones pressing the power and home buttons would reboot the
phone. With this new SE it just takes a screen shot. Is there a different
command to reboot other than to restart the phone?

Also, Just this morning I asked SIRI to call my work voice mail. She dialed
and put in the code, as normal and I had messages but the key pad was not on
the screen. I went to the bottom of the screen and chose “phone” and the key
pad showed up but none of the keys were active. I’ve never had this happen
before. Can someone please tell me what the problem is?

Thank you,

Kim

Try a triple tap on the spot that says Format button, or format options at the
top left where Reader used to be.
Or double tap and open it, and then see what you find.
It certainly isn't as clear as it used to be.

RE: Hardware issue

2020-06-01 Thread Richard Turner
It sounds like you are going to see if Apple can fix it right?
If they can reproduce the issue, they will either replace it or fix it.
If you have the patience, you may want to look at the Accessibility, Touch,
then Touch Accommodations settings.
There are several settings in there that may help.

Either way, you really should have it checked out by apple.
I hope you get it resolved.

Thank you for your support Arnold. I am just about traumatized by this phone.
It’s not usable. I did take it next-door to Yes computers and the guy was very
frustrated first because he couldn’t figure out why the screen was dark but he
wouldn’t let me turn off the screen curtain or shut down the voice over before
hegrab the phone from me. Then he handed it over to a tec. They turn voiceover
off tested the screen said it worked just fine for them. I don’t know what
they did. They told me to send it back to Apple. They’re not doing in-store
service so I didn’t get to see what they did or didn’t do. They didn’t wanna be
bothered to tell the trut. if the techs at Apple also find no problem with the
phone I’m gonna find someone to buy it off me, or at least I hope someone will
take it off my hands. It may just be the new type of hardware that is too
sensitive and picky with touch gestures alone and causing the cursor to bounce
all over. There is really nothing I can do with the phone so I’m reverting back
to using the 6S with an earlier version of 13 and right now I’m actually using
the six to write this email. Like I said I’m traumatized enough by this new
phone that I’m even afraid to touch either of these other phones that are lying
around the house.

You could have one profile and switch which show you're watching, but if you
have separate profiles, Hulu will keep track of where each of you are, which

They can test with VoiceOver on.
If they can see the cursor jumping around, then they will be able to fix it, or
replace it if it isn't fixable.

Hardware issue

2020-06-01 Thread Deidre Muccio

Deidre my phone is going back to the shop to be checked out for some kind of
malfunctioning screen. The phones been completely unusable for weeks now. They
can see the cursor bouncing all over the place. See what happens. I wonder if
testing with voiceover on and voiceover off are two different animals. Whether
they’ll see I’ll be able to determine what the real issue is even if they’re
not familiar with how to use voiceover. Is there an obvious answer to this
question.

RE: A couple of SE questions

2020-06-01 Thread Richard Turner
The new SE uses the same reboot system as the X and 11 phones.
Press and release volume up, then press and release volume down, then hold in
the power button for 6 to 10 seconds and it will reboot.
You want to do the volume buttons fairly quickly and then hold in the power
button.

As for the second question, I've not had that issue at all.
I just tested it and after Siri makes the call, the keypad is active for me.
You might check for a tiny icon in the upper left that says call in progress or
something like that and double tap it.
Or, perhaps a call to Apple Accessibility?

Thank you,

RE: VO’s assigned gestures transferrs to new phone?

I am assuming you are talking about special gestures you set up to do a gesture
that is hard for you to do. I set up my SE by putting the phone next to my old
phone. The transfer was flawless and all settings and my changes transferred
over perfectly. Not sure if you use your last iCloud backup, but I would think
things would transfer fine. Definitely not sure about itunes, never used it.

Help with Reminders, please.

2020-06-01 Thread Carolyn
I did set two this morning, heard my alert and Siri say 9 AM
Reminder.

But, these days, Reminders has become pretty burdensome.
What can I do to dumb down Reminders and have it like it was
a couple of years ago? Even an old woman in her 80's, like I
am, has no need or regard for the complications of reminders
now. I have the hardest time getting rid of them. And, now,
we have to complete them. I am getting a prompt to upgrade.
I dare not do that for fear of more acrobatics to get rid of
one, once it is in there. Any suggestions? There is mention
of yellow and I don't know what. I don't need my phone to
let me know which is more urgent than another, as I am well
in touch with my life and its priorities. I, personally,
just want a tap from reminders that it is time, then to just
be rid of the thing.

Or, what can I do to make what I have easier to live with?
What is the simplest way to get rid of one, once I no longer
have need of it? Thanks for any help or solution.

Thanks for putting up with the rant.

Re: Braille displays and iOS?

2020-06-01 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
The new Orbit 40 that is coming out will have cursor
buttons. The orbits are really good for note taking. Also the new Orbit 40
will have on board translation.

 Hi all,

I am doing some research for a client on the best display to use with her
 iPhone and iPad.

What models of braille displays are people using with the iPhone?

I have heard good things about the new Focus 5th gen as well as the
 QBraille.

 Any insight welcome.

I have Hulu connected to both my Amazon fire stick and my iPhone. Is it
possible for people to watch the same program that be at two different spots
in the program? For example, my husband is watching A Series, and he is in
like season three or four. But I haven’t got to start the series yet. Am I
going to have to wait until he’s done for me to watch it on Hulu on my
phone?

Re: Braille displays and iOS?

2020-06-01 Thread Sadam Ahmed

Hi Richard, Simon, and Alia.

She will be using it for note taking as well as lots of reading.

So far we have looked at the Focus 40 5th gen as well as the mentioned
Q-Braille from Hims.

Orbit reader sounds good, But from what I gather that display does not
have cursor buttons.

Thanks,

Sadam

I do not believe the Vario Ultra is being produced any longer.
I use the Orbit Reader 20.
A 40 cell version will be out within a couple of months.
Which display will be best for your client will depend a lot on what specific

Question about Hulu

2020-06-01 Thread Dacia Luck
I have Hulu connected to both my Amazon fire stick and my iPhone. Is it
possible for people to watch the same program that be at two different spots in
the program? For example, my husband is watching A Series, and he is in like
season three or four. But I haven’t got to start the series yet. Am I going to
have to wait until he’s done for me to watch it on Hulu on my phone?

RE: Recommendation for an Apple-Compatible BT-Keyboard?

2020-06-01 Thread chaltain
Depending on what you’re looking for in a portable keyboard, the Logitech K-380
might meet the bill. It’s a solid compact keyboard. It doesn’t fold or fit in a
pocket, but you can easily slip it into a brief case or a back pack. It has
full size keys, but no numeric keypad. You can pair it with three devices.

Hi,

I love the Matias brand of keyboard for me. It meets my needs. It does have a
NumPad with it though. That doesn’t bother me. It makes it easier for me to
enter my passcode. It is also very light to type on and gives me a little
support that way. Again, these are just my preferences. Whatever you get, I
hope you enjoy! I got at least 3 keyboards that I do love and use from time to
time from Amazon. Greatest luck to you!

I am looking for an Apple-compatible BT-Keyboard, any recommendations?

Thanks!
