I have used amazing slow downer for a number of years with success. I use it 
exclusively on an iPhone. I currently have an iPhone 13 promax.
with the introduction of iOS 16.0, slider behavior has been non-functional. For 
my use case, this means I cannot adjust pitch, speed, or loop start and stop 
times with the precision I would like.
I have contacted the developer several times. He can reproduce this problem. He 
has sent bug reports to Apple for both the iOS 16.1 and iOS 16.2 versions. The 
problem has not yet been fixed in iOS 16.3.
I spoke with Apple Accessibility last evening. They were able to get amazing 
slow downer to work, I believe on an iPhone running 16.3.
today, the developer says he has no additional solutions to offer, other than 
finding an iPhone 6 which updates to the most recent iOS 12. The program works 
well on iPad I am told.
in short, does anyone here use amazing slow downer on an iPhone running iOS 
16.X? If so, can you report on slider behavior? Any suggestions you may be able 
to put forward as to further steps?

Hi Robin,Don’t feel alone. In the past, I had a full size iPad. I’m talking about the way past. The iPad one. And I’ve had a couple of iPad mini’s. I have one now. And I have decided that it’s really efficient for certain things and not for others. I sort of got used to the stuff on the left like when you go into settings and all the things are on the left and what you have selected, then the choice is for that are over on the right etc. But the one thing I really wish is that I could find the scroll bar. Opening email and having it open way down into some really old stuff is annoying. And finding that scroll bar is not easy. Not like on the iPhone where I know exactly where it is. Maybe using a keyboard and getting familiar with keyboard commands would help. But I do like the battery life. I like being able to use zoom. And because of the battery life, I like reading and stuff on the iPad. adjusting to iPad

I bought a used iPad recently.  It's primary use so far is for  my son to play

At $15 for something I won't use I won't purchase it.  I tried the lite version 
and couldn't figure it out.  This was a very brief test.

I also like the WayAround WayTags.  I have been usingthemfor a a few years now.  Except for the stickers, I like the fact that the tags can be reused and never go bad.  So the initial cost can be a littlehigh, but since theyare reusable,

hi,
I have used amazing slow downer for a number of years with success. I use it 
exclusively on an iPhone. I currently have an iPhone 13 promax.
with the introduction of iOS 16.0, slider behavior has been non-functional. For 
my use case, this means I cannot adjust pitch, speed, or loop start and stop 
times with the precision I would like.
I have contacted the developer several times. He can reproduce this problem. He 
has sent bug reports to Apple for both the iOS 16.1 and iOS 16.2 versions. The 
problem has not yet been fixed in iOS 16.3.
I spoke with Apple Accessibility last evening. They were able to get amazing 
slow downer to work, I believe on an iPhone running 16.3.
today, the developer says he has no additional solutions to offer, other than 
finding an iPhone 6 which updates to the most recent iOS 12. The program works 
well on iPad I am told.
in short, does anyone here use amazing slow downer on an iPhone running iOS 
16.X? If so, can you report on slider behavior? Any suggestions you may be able 
to put forward as to further steps?

I believe as of iOS 16.2 or maybe it's just now as of the recently released iOS 
16.3 Apple is making this area also available to developers to display stuff 
from their apps, for example Uber could use it to display when your ride is 
arriving etc. For now only available on iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, rumours are

You have to reset it just like your iPhone because otherwise if you are signed 
in then whoever you give it to could theoretically use it to order stuff from 
Amazon if you have that enabled.
You do this in the Alexa app on your iPhone, when I just Googled it the exact

Absolutely, the Windows app is very accessible via the system tray, there are 
also Roboform extensions for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, but especially for my 
many SafeNotes I prefer the desktop app. I just bring up the system tray with 
Jaws Key + F11, press R for Roboform and press enter. This brings up the 
Roboform context menu where I can arrow up (by default the cursor is always at 
the bottom on "Login" or, if you are logged in with your Master password it is 
on "Logout", then as I up arrow I get "Exit" which quits the app, then Logins, 
Bookmarks, Identities, Contacts and Safenotes.
Logins are all your so-called "passcards" which are typically web addresses 
which include login names and passwords so if you  select one it wil lgo to 
that website, fill in the information and log you in. There are some exceptions 
as some websites don't allow for this or some have a screen with  your user 
Id/login name, then you have to click next before the password comes up.
Bookmarks are just that, they are bookmarks of websites and they are not 
password protected.
Identities is where you can have your own information like address, phone 
numbers, email addresses, social insurance number, passport number, credit card 
information, bank information and so on. You can also set up multiple 
Identities.
Contacts I don't use, but here you can enter information for Contacts and of 
course this will then be available on any of your devices where you use 
Roboform.
Safenotes are one of the things I use most apart from Logins. You can create a 
New
Safenote for whatever you want and type as much information as you want and 
these will be protected by your master password although I believe you can also 
set it up so you can have them not be protected if, for example, you want to 
just write down some information which is not important.
Then you also have a "Tools" submenu which includes a "Generat Password" 
option, this generates a random 16-character password with an option to copy it 
to the clipboard so you can easily use it when  you need a good password for a 
website.
There is also a "Energency Contact" option in the menu, it reads as as follows:

I’m Emergency Contact For (0)
Trusted Emergency Contact can gain access to your RoboForm account data in case 
you forget your Master Password or in the events of death or incapacitation.
If a person you choose to be your Emergency Contact does not have a RoboForm 
account, we will ask them to create one FOR FREE.

There is more, but I don't have time now to go over everything, as I said, it's 
all pretty accessible and Roboform has been my password manager for over 15 
years, I think I started using it around 2005. I tried 1Password at some point, 
but it's like with me and Jaws and NVDA, I've been using Jaws for way too long 
and I am way too used to how it all works to change.

Yes, they do have an iOS app and I find it quite accessible. Could it be

I have been using Roboform probably for more than 15 years and it has been a 
reliable password manager for me. You can also have an unlimited amount of 
so-called SafeNotes and while I have never tried to set one up with information 
that is say 5 or 6 pages long, I don't think each SafeNote has a size limit,

Well, your iPhone can only receive music into the music app from iTunes or some 
third party programs like WALTR Pro. I can no longer recommend WALTR Pro 
because it is a subscription and barely accessible.S, you could import the file 
into iTunes; then sync your phone with iTunes on your computer to get it on 
your phone.If that is not how you have not gotten music on your phone before; 
it may cause more problems than it is worth.

I can already do that with my iPhone 13 Pro and previously with my iPhone 11. 
When a call is in progress you just have to touch near the top left and just 
underneath the status bar and above the first app icon will be your call in 
progress, double tap on it and you are there.

I was doing some investigating yesterday, and I found out what the dynamic 
Island does. This is only for iPhone 14 and 14 pro max though. Here is an 
example or two:

1. Open Control Center
2. Start a screen recording
3. Exit out of control center with the screen recording still on.
4. Double tap on the dynamic Island which is right in the middle of the status 
bar. If you have a screen protector on your phone, the Dynamic Island is right 
in the middle of the top of it in between the pieces of glass or plastic that 
covers your phone.
5. VoiceOver will say, “Screen recording.” You can double tap this and the stop 
button will appear. It’s a handy way of stopping a screen recording.

Example number 2:

1. Start a song playing.
2. Exit out of the music app and go back to your Home Screen.
3. Touch the Dynamic island and it will tell you the name of the song playing. 
You can double tap it to bring up the now playing screen.

I think this will be a great little tool. I think they will probably do some 
more work on it though.

Resolved Reading downloaded audible books when not connected to the internet.

So I googled this issue and found a website that suggested redownloading the 
audible books. So I deleted my downloaded books from the app and then 
redownloaded them.  This seems to have resolved the problem.  I was able to 
listen to three different books while off line.   I'm just glad that I didn't 
have to uninstall the app and then reinstall it.

That's only just started happening in 16.2, at least for me. The bright side is 
now I have a 100% reliable method of hitting the status bar. I ended up adding 
a battery widget to my lock screen because I got sick and tired of trying to 
check my battery in the status bar and missing. If I didn't just buy a pair of 
air pods, I could remove that widget now.

I was doing some investigating yesterday, and I found out what the dynamic 
Island does. This is only for iPhone 14 and 14 pro max though. Here is an 
example or two:

1. Open Control Center
2. Start a screen recording
3. Exit out of control center with the screen recording still on.
4. Double tap on the dynamic Island which is right in the middle of the status 
bar. If you have a screen protector on your phone, the Dynamic Island is right 
in the middle of the top of it in between the pieces of glass or plastic that 
covers your phone.
5. VoiceOver will say, “Screen recording.” You can double tap this and the stop 
button will appear. It’s a handy way of stopping a screen recording.

Example number 2:

1. Start a song playing.
2. Exit out of the music app and go back to your Home Screen.
3. Touch the Dynamic island and it will tell you the name of the song playing. 
You can double tap it to bring up the now playing screen.

I think this will be a great little tool. I think they will probably do some 
more work on it though.

Did not double tap but swiped more controls is heading with many options.

It states insert Apple TV remote.  I am using Spectrum TV remote.

Next time I hear scan QR code on TV I’ll open camera and swipe to QR code.  

Or maybe take a photo and hope QR code is on photo.  

I usually watch TV on TV in bedroom.  However, I have Spectrum TV on phone.  

Open Spectrum TV on phone set to CNBC the host is talking wait for commercial 
but no QR code.  I tap settings and TV closes.

Best option is to make sure "Code Scanner" is added to your control panel, you

Open settings, tap on control center button, 

Swipe to show home controls is on

Swipe to code scanner then reorder code scanner button Voice Over  announces 
double tap and hold wait for sound then drag to rearrange.

Did not double tap but swiped more controls is heading with many options.

It states insert Apple TV remote.  I am using Spectrum TV remote.

Next time I hear scan QR code on TV I’ll open camera and swipe to QR code.  

Or maybe take a photo and hope QR code is on photo.  

I usually watch TV on TV in bedroom.  However, I have Spectrum TV on phone.  

Open Spectrum TV on phone set to CNBC the host is talking wait for commercial 
but no QR code.  I tap settings and TV closes.  

I’ll try a photo later today.

A couple weeks ago there was some talk on this list about VoiceOver 
saying "coupon" in certain situations. Well, here's another mystery 
VoiceOver thing to add to the list. I just activated an iPhone 14 Pro 
Max with iOS 16.3, and in several places I have heard it say "Dynamic 
Island empty." It says it on the lock screen and on the status line 
between the cell carrier information and the Wi-Fi network status 
information. How about that!

I just tried it with the 1 prescription that worked with the reader device, and 
it also worked with the phone.  

Open the CVS app, select Pharmacy, That takes you to a sign in page.  You don't 
really need to sign in to use SpokenRX.  Just swipe several times until you 
hear SpokenRX.  Tap on that.  Then just hold your prescription bottle, with the 
little round tag on the bottom of the bottle over your phone screen near the 
camera, and you should hear a beep.  It doesn't seem to read until you touch 
the portion of the screen where the information is located.  Mine responded 
pretty quickly as I moved the bottle over the phone screen.

My Spoken RX device arrived yesterday.  We had 7 prescription bottles with the 
SpokenRX tags on them.  Out of the 7, only 1 would read.  The other 6 just said 
"name, null".  Spoke with the Pharmacist, who told me that she has very little 
success in activating the tags.  

Got a text saying another prescription was ready for pickup.  My husband and I 
went to the pharmacy, taking the reader with us.  The Pharmacist informed us 
that the tag on this one also did not activate.  I found it troubling that she 
didn't offer a solution.  She just said again that the majority of the tags she 
makes don't activate. Could it be a case of faulty equipment?
We may never know. 

I spent over 2 hours this morning trying to contact someone at the corperate 
office. I would get transferred and put on hold, only to have the call drop.
Tried 4 times.  I know this pharmacy is short staffed.  My goal is just to get 
someone to check her equipment to make shure it's working properly, and to make 
sure she is making the tags correctly.  I find it frustrating that she never 
indicated that she was reaching out for help.

The tag that did read was great!  I'm impressed with the amount of information 
that is available.  The reader is very easy to use.  I was so frustrated that I 
didn't think to try to read it with the phone app, which didn't work on the 
others before I received the reader.

Has anyone else had problems with tags that will not read?

A song and a playlist

Good morning,
Recently, I was sent an email, and there was a particular song attached that I 
had requested from somebody. It is in the M4a format.
I would like to find a way of adding this particular song to a playlist I have 
in my Apple music app. Is there a way of easily doing this directly from my 
phone?
I tried saving it to my phone, but I really didn’t know where to save it. I 
would definitely like this particular song in my playlist, and I don’t believe 
it is in Apple Music itself.
Any suggestions??

information on each tag (RFI) as you need. I like to add the color, Brand, Size

Yes, they do have an iOS app and I find it quite accessible. Could it be 
better, there is always room for improvement, but I can open my SafeNotes and 
read their context or I can pick either Roboform or iCloud when I am trying to 
log in somewhere.

I have been using Roboform probably for more than 15 years and it has been a 
reliable password manager for me. You can also have an unlimited amount of 
so-called SafeNotes and while I have never tried to set one up with information 
that is say 5 or 6 pages long, I don't think each SafeNote has a size limit, 
either and if it does it's more than enough.

I have things like all my credit card numbers with expiry dates, CV codes and 
corresponding phone numbers in such SafeNotes, also my bank accounts including 
the bank's institution, transit numbers, routing and swift codes. I have a 
SafeNote called Gift Cards where I write down the numbers and codes of gift 
cards I sometimes buy with points, how much the card had on it, when I bought 
it and when I used it. I also include what it was I bought and what, if any, 
the balance remaining is. I have SafeNotes for my tech gear, e.g. Lenovo, HP, 
Sonos etc. and here I have written down everything I ever bought, when I bought 
it and for how much, serial numbers of printers, laptops and on and on.

I have of course a SafeNote called Apple where I have my 2-factor 
authentication recovery key, I now added the advanced data protection recovery 
key and of course in there as well are the serial numbers of my wife's and my 
iPhones, our Apple TV, iPad etc.

I use a random 14-character master password for Roboform which I also change 
from time to time and use nowhere else, Roboform data on their servers is of 
course encrypted and I also use 2-factor authentication which for Roboform 
means if anybody including myself tries to sign in on a new device, I get an 
email with a 6-digit OTP (one-time password) code. I feel it's more or less as 
safe as it can be.

 

I also have a Yubiko hardware security key which looks a little bit like a 
small USB drive, but thinner with a button on it which you press to 
authenticate. I haven't really started using it much yet, but plan to set it up 
for my new Lenovo ThinkPad and Lenovo small form factor desktop computer in the 
office as an additional way to sign in (I also have set up a PIN and on my 
laptop I can also use face recognition and fingerprint).

I still have to explore all the other uses for it because it does also support 
2-factor authentication for Dropbox and many more services, currently I am 
using the Microsoft Authenticator app to generate my Dropbox 2-factor 
authentication code.

There is also a UsB-C version of this device available, but according to the 
article from The Verge it does not include NFC and they also mentioned that 
Yubiko was looking at making a version with a Lightning port. I would certainly 
not buy a
