RE: Accessible smoker?
It's unfortunate then that your "jokes" do at times not come across as such. Remember that this is email and at least you may want to use an emoji or two to convey extra or hidden meaning if that is what you intend. You can make your voice sound teasing or sarcastic, but unless you add something like a 藍 or emoji to indicate you are joking that may not be obvious; or at least then add something like "Joking aside" to your line which is meant to be the serious question. Anyways, I'm sure in a country like New Zealand where outdoor pursuits like hiking, camping, hunting and water sports are so wide spread you must have stores like mine who sell the gear for it. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com<mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com>> On Behalf Of Simon A Fogarty Sent: Tuesday, July 6, 2021 5:34 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com<mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> Subject: RE: Accessible smoker? Re: Accessible smoker?
Hello Mary, I know what you mean by an accessible smoker. Mike Calvo got a smoker made by Pitboss which was not accessible. He got another one made by Traeger which was accessible. I have a Weber 22 inch original premium grill which I use to smoke on. I also have the Weber Connect Smart Hub. This comes with a temperature probe you can connect to the grate. It also comes with a meat probe. You can find it at Amazon. I think you are better off with a kettle. It costs $175.00 and the Smart Connect hub costs $129.00. If you want to smoke something, use a method called the Snake Method. I have done wings, ribs, and numerous other foods. The Snake method is quite easy. You put two rows of charcoal around the bottom of your grill. Make sure they are side by side. Next, stack two more rows on top of what you previously did. After that, put a few wood smoke chunks toward the start of your snake. To light your snake, start it out by separating at least eight charcoal pieces. I would recommend starter cubes. They are more reliable than lighter fluid. From those eight pieces you lit, put a small piece of smoke wood in between the starting eight and the actual snake. When you smell the wood, you’re ready to put the grate on and monitor your temperature. What charcoal to use? I use Royal Oak for smoking. This is a lot, but hopefully this will help you and others who may have questions. Sorry mods for the slight off topic post. I had the sales rep at my store doing a demo and I had the app on my phone and I was able to adjust the temperature and see the target temperature as well as the current temperature and also the temperature of the 2 meat [probes we had connected. The model we used and which I will take home for myself is the Founders series 1200 premium which is their largest size, but the app which is called SmokeIt works also with the Louisiana Grill Black Label series which comes in 3 sizes, the 800, 1000 and 1200, here in Canada they sell for $1,099, $1,199 and $1,299 respectively. The Founders series 1200 Premium is $1,599 Canadian and there is only one model above this which is the Founders series Legacy which is the same size as the other 1200 models, but it's all double wall stainless steel with insulation so it can be used even throughout the winter in colder temperatures and it also has a few other things included which are optional for the other grills like a side shelf, a griddle etc. The Black Label series grills can take up to 2 meat probes, the Founders series can take up to 4 and the pellet hopper on the Founders series is quite a bit larger than on the Black Label. These are very good, high quality products which come with what I believe is an industry leading 5-year warranty and I don't think that except for the cable and maybe the knobs I have seen much plastic on them, it's all steel and I assume aluminum. Concorde Distributing which owns the Louisiana Grill brand also owns Pitt Boss which is their more entry level line and they also own Jackson Grill which are traditional propane barbecues and they also own BlazeKing wood stoves and several other brands. Waw, big pricing for smokers, I'm guessing though for those prices they are pretty good at what they do. I'm sitting at a café in the courtyard and there are a couple of smokers on another table, I'm guessing they don't work as well. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Tuesday, 6 July 2021 6:50 am To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Accessible smoker? RE: Accessible smoker?
I just started selling Louisiana Grill pellet smokers/barbecues and while I only just brought them in I think the app can be used. Several years ago I recall reading many reviews about something called the Bradley Smoker, and that blind persons can use it independently. I haven't heard anything about it in a long time, but you might want to Google Bradley Smoker. Re: Accessible smoker?
My sighted father has a Gator Pit smoker but I don't use it. He's a caterer has a business called Chilly Willy's Smokehouse BBQ here locally in California, does BBQ like the Texans do but with a little California twist. Had some of his food yesterday at our Fourth Of July party and it was amazing! Sent from my iPhone > On Jul 5, 2021, at 9:52 AM, Bobby Druesedow wrote: > > I use a Pit Boss vertical pellet smoker.
