Janet,

I agree that you should not be experiencing the inability to stop a voice mail
from playing. Who is your service provider? I use Verizon and have gotten the
impression in the past that our experiences with Visual Voicemail or whatever
Apple is now calling it can depend on our particular wireless provider. You
might consider contacting Apple Accessibility with this issue.

Hi Alan,

Thank you for this, I just tried that, but it didn’t work. There is no pause
button that shows up on the screen, so I pressed the play button to see if the
play button would change in to a pause button, but again still it didn’t work.
I can’t seem to stop the message from playing. Although, I am having some
serious issues with my phone app since I updated to iOS 13. I also talked to
Apple earlier today, but all they say is to do a force reset, but I just can’t

Thank you again.

Janet,

Ignore my last reply since I confused voice mail with VoiceOver. When I'm
listening to voice mail on my SE 2020, the play button becomes a pause button
when the voice mail is playing and double tapping that pause button stops the
playback.

Hi Everyone,
This might sound like a stupid question, but can someone tell me how to just
stop listening to a voice mail message on my phone? I used to just single or
double finger tap to stop listening to a message, but since I updated to iOS
13, this option no longer works for me. Is there some new way of doing this?

Thank you all for any help.
Janet

Re: Ending A Voice Mail message Question Please.

2020-08-06 Thread Donna Casteen
 Hi Janet,

Double tapping no longer stops voicemail playing for me either. What I do, I
use 1 finger & tap twice along the bottom where Favorites, Recent Calls,
contacts etc are. I have to go back into voicemail to delete the paused
message. Stopping voicemails from playing & having to go back into voicemail to
delete the message, using these steps is frustrating, but gets the task
completed.

Hi Alan,
My phone provider is T-Mobile, and yes, I am seriously thinking about calling
them to see if they can help. As far as Apple Accessibility, I did call them
earlier today, and they are the ones who told me to do a force reset, and if
that doesn’t help, then there must be something wrong with the phone or the
phone app software. I will call T-Mobile tomorrow to see if they can do
anything with this phone.

Janet,

Whenever Voiceover is speaking on my iPhone, a two finger touch of the screen
stops the speech. This works whether an email or anything else is being read.

Subject: Ending A Voice Mail message Question Please.

Janet

Peace Be With You.
