IOS 13.1.2

2019-09-30 Thread Larry Smith
IOS 13.1.2 is now available. I just installed it. So I don’t know everything
that has been fixed with voiceover. However, I believe that accessing the
status bar by touching the top of the screen is now much better. I am using an
iPhone 11 pro max and iPad Pro.

iPhone 8 with iOS 13.1.2 really short battery life

2019-10-11 Thread Donald Raikes
Hi,

I have noticed in the two weeks since I upgraded my iPhone 8 to iOS
13.1.2 tghat my battery life is significantly shorter. As in from a
100% charge with hte phone just sitting on my desk not plugged in and
when I am not using it for anything, the battery drains to 50% within
a couple of hours.

If I am listening to an audio book, it can go to 0% within 3-4 hours.

Has anyone else noticed this issue, and is there any way to help
preserve battery life?

I will be travelling in a few weeks and I need my phone to be working
at its best then.

Thanks,
Donald

Re: iPhone 8 with iOS 13.1.2 really short battery life

2019-10-11 Thread Dave

have you checked your battery health?

Also, check, if you have any navigation apps, open in your app switcher,
which might be using up your battery.

Subject: iPhone 8 with iOS 13.1.2 really short battery life

2019-10-11 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Close all apps in the app switcher, then go to Settings > General > Reset and
select to Reset Network Settings.
After the phone reboots you have to rejoin your WiFi including entering your
password and if your phone was called something like Donald's iPhone you have
to go to Settings > General > About and rename it. After a Reset Network
Settings the name is simply reset to "iPhone".
Often doing this can have a very positive effect.

Sieghard

There is definitely something wrong, it should never take this long to charge
an iPhone. Are you using the wall adapter that came with the phone or a
third-party adapter?
Lightning cables can of course also go bad.

Hi,
Amazon Basics Lightning cables are also great. From my experience with these
cables, the newer model has a fat connector that does not allow connection when
an OtterBox defender case is being used. I used to like these cables until they
updated them with the fatter connector. Anker cables do not have this issue.
Just one thing to be aware of when purchasing if you have a case protector.

I will be travelling in a few weeks and I need my phone to be working

email to read it, then exit, I am placed back at the top of the inbox, as
my inbox has many, many, messages in it, and I have to trawl through
hundreds on a daly basis, my 8 has become unusable for mail. I have tried
a reset settings, but it made no difference.

Re: IOS 13.1.2 Cursor jumping all over the place in the email app

2019-10-08 Thread Lynn Schneider
It does not work for me When it comes to reading messages. I’m not sure if you
all are talking about reading or composing. Definitely, turning it off helps
with composing, but reading is another issue altogether. I spend so much time
just looking for the body of a message that it is ridiculous. And in the past,
I was able to swipe up to the delete button and just double tap it to delete a
message. Now, I cannot do that anymore and sometimes the delete button is
nearly impossible to find, Even at the bottom of the screen. For me at least,
reading mail is dreadful right now and I really hope it gets fixed soon.

After I saw this email, went in to general and keyboards, made the
change and it seems to be working fine.
Here are some of the crazy things it was doing; A lot of them I would
never think would get fixed with just that change.
cursor bouncing all over the place
Voice Over shutting down for no apparent reason
Lots of intrusive messages such as
Try this and try that
Suggested this and that messages
intrusive autofill when typing
"voice control is not listening" every 3 seconds when I was on the phone
I think there were more, but I can't remember them all.
It was super bizarre behavior.
My daughter and son-in-law are major geeks and can usually fix
anything strange going on with my phone and they couldn't figure out
what was going on this time.
Thank you, you guys, you saved me a very time consuming trip to the Apple Store.

For the person having trouble reading email.
I don't usually delete my email the way you described, but I tried it
to see what you might be talking about.
I swipe to get to the body of the email, so don't know if you're doing
the reading part that way.
Then at the bottom it does only say from left to right, "Archives" and
"More Actions Available"
When I tapped on "More actions available" it opened up and then across
the bottom it did not seem to have delete, but it has several rows of
a ton of other stuff. I guess you'd have to tap on move to trash or
junk to get rid of it.
Has someone else found the delete button?

No, it's the iOS. It's jumping all over in messages too just since this update.
Really a mess.

2019-10-09 Thread 'Sandy Tomkins' via VIPhone
hi,
Having adjusted the settings and disabled swipe mode in keyboards, I find that
I am still having to use my iPhone 6 for checking my mail. my iPhone eight,
running the latest version of iOS, still jumps to the top of the list of emails
whenever I read a new message or a new message comes in. this makes it
impossible for me to go through my mail in any reasonable time. I am afraid, it
is still a bug!

I also am experiencing the situation where after reading a message,
and pressing the Back button, focus will be random and sometimes jump
to the top of the list, very unsettling.
I have started using Outlook for IOS, which is free, and will connect
very nicely to most email services.
No focus problems in this app, very Voiceover friendly.

2019-10-09 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Swipe to type should not impact this cursor jumping behaviour, it only comes
not play in an edit field.
As Davy said, I hope all and I mean everybody who replied on here with "me too"
will take the time to write accessibil...@apple.com and request that this
behaviour is fixed. If you don't do so don't complain.

Swipe to type should not impact this cursor jumping behaviour, it only comes
not play in an edit field.
As Davy said, I hope all and I mean everybody who replied on here with "me
too" will take the time to write accessibil...@apple.com and request that
this behaviour is fixed. If you don't do so don't complain.

I also am experiencing the situation where after reading a message, and
pressing the Back button, focus will be random and sometimes jump to the top
of the list, very unsettling.
I have started using Outlook for IOS, which is free, and will connect very
nicely to most email services.

No focus problems in this app, very Voiceover friendly.

I literally was checking my email just before heading out to go to the
Apple store to get my phone looked at.
It has been doing really crazy stuff for the past two days.
After I saw this email, went in to general and keyboards, made the
change and it seems to be working fine.
Here are some of the crazy things it was doing; A lot of them I would
never think would get fixed with just that change.
cursor bouncing all over the place
Voice Over shutting down for no apparent reason Lots of intrusive
messages such as Try this and try that Suggested this and that
messages intrusive autofill when typing "voice control is not
listening" every 3 seconds when I was on the phone I think there were
more, but I can't remember them all.
It was super bizarre behavior.
My daughter and son-in-law are major geeks and can usually fix
anything strange going on with my phone and they couldn't figure out
what was going on this time.
Thank you, you guys, you saved me a very time consuming trip to the
Apple Store.

Teresa☺

It does not work for me When it comes to reading messages. I’m not
sure if you all are talking about reading or composing. Definitely,
turning it off helps with composing, but reading is another issue
altogether. I spend so much time just looking for the body of a
message that it is ridiculous.
And
in the past, I was able to swipe up to the delete button and just
double tap it to delete a message. Now, I cannot do that anymore and
sometimes the delete button is nearly impossible to find, Even at
the bottom of the screen. For me at least, reading mail is dreadful
right now and I really hope it gets fixed soon.

Hi,

Running an iPhone 8 with the latest ios version 13.1.2 and am
having sever problems with the cursor moving, usually to the top
of my email inbox list. I am having to use my iPhone 6, luckily,
still running
12.4
or whatever it is Is anyone else getting this behaviour? If I
open an email to read it, then exit, I am placed back at the top
of the inbox, as my inbox has many, many, messages in it, and I
have to trawl through hundreds on a daly basis, my 8 has become
unusable for mail. I have tried a reset settings, but it made no
difference.

Help please! Sandy.

I'm headed off to the Apple store after all. Making that change in the
general, keyboard andswipe... that helped all the extra jabbering but
still did not help the going scilent all of a sudden. Gerr.
