RE: List Recorder App and IOS 11
I believe that someone on this list mentioned that they contacted the dev and indications were that they for personal reasons had stopped developing the app. Unless another dev works something out with this app’s creator and takes it over, then that’s probably it for List Recorder. Considering how ubiquitous recording apps are in general though, I wouldn’t hold my breath on this particular app being updated for iOS 11 compatibility at this point. Unfortunate, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. RE: List Recorder App and IOS 11
Hi Christopher, I believe Richard contacted the developer and she has tried to sell the app to another developer since she can’t continue the work, but nobody wanted to buy the app from her. You have to understand that just because you paid for an app that does not mean it will definitely be supported or updated for the rest of your life. If a developer can’t continue for personal reasons or because he or she has become sick or just moved on to another job which requires all their time then that is just how it is. You could say the same about an iPhone, I paid a lot more for my iPhone 4S 6 years ago which I believe is probably about the same time I bought List Recorder, but just because I paid for it doesn’t mean Apple will continue to support it and make sure it gets the latest iOS update, this is just not technologically possible. It sounds like in the case of List Recorder personal reasons make it impossible for the original developer to continue developing it and unfortunately that means List Recorder is an app of the past most likely never to return. RE: Saving List Recorder Full recordings before upgrading to iOS 11
List Recorder was pretty cool in its day, one had the ability to record voice memos but also do text notes, one could create lists and in these lists have mixed voice and text notes and one could use motions like tilting the iPhone back, forward or left and right to do certain things like deleting notes, starting a note etc. I also used it for a while, but as I mostly prefer just a simple recording app for the occasional quick voice memo and always found List Recorder too complicated and clunky. For me RecUp what used to be Dropvox also works well and I like the fact that your voice memos go straight to Dropbox where I can also access them from my PC and of course they are safe in terms of being backed up in the cloud. In the future, a good recording app is RecUp. I haven't used List Recorder so am not familiar with all of its capabilities. I believe the rev recorder is free and shows up simply as recorder. Double tap on the app and you may have to give some permissions, but it works great. I was hoping Voice Dream Reader would have been an option, but it didn't show up. You will get the strange number file name, so you will want to rename it after it is in the other app, or write down a list with the new, meaningless file name. I hope that helps. RE: list recorder 2.4.4 with ios 10 and installation
Yes, it is a very sad thing as this was one of my favorite apps. I had corresponded with the developer quite a bit, which is partly why they came out with the separate "full" version so you didn't have to update from within the app to get the full version. But, her partner had very serious health issues and she couldn't put the extra time into maintaining the app. Maybe one day someone will rewrite it for the latest iOS and all that it offers. Re: list recorder 2.4.4 with ios 10 and installation
First, open the app store, then double tap on updates. Then, double tap on purchased. Select all, and use the search field to find List recorder. you should be able to download it and then perhaps restore your purchase from within the app. But, no it has not been updated and likely will not unless someone else takes it over, which the original developer would be willing to do. I do not know for what price. I do not think there is an equivalent app anywhere if you want the ability to write notes directly associated with a recording. list recorder 2.4.4 with ios 10 and installation
Hello, I have a new iphone and I want to re-install list recorder. When I go to the app store, I see a lite versione for free and another download for the paid full version. When I bought this app some years ago, I think it was a in app purchase to update the lite version to the full version. So, the full version should be for free in my case , is this right? Also, Apple asks to have a restore function so that I can download what I get before. This isn’t available here I think. and , this app, version 2.4.4 isn’t updated since 2013 and isn’t perhaps optimised for ios10. Is there a renewed version of this app somewhere or is there a alternative? Kind regards, William Windels -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. the last communication I had with the developer, no, it is not. She would pass it on to a developer who would continue development, but that was well over a year ago. Re: List Recorder Full
Hi Richard and others, I would also like to see List recorder continue to evolve. I’d like to see it use iCloud and have the option to sink to multiple devices. List recorder is still working fine for me and is one of my most often used apps.. but, if people sent feature requests and any fixes they have noticed to the developer we might see some nice improvements. I think Richard is right, getting that feedback out there through emails is important. Re: List Recorder: CAF to MP3?
*CAF(Core Audio Format)* is an audio file format developed by Apple in 2005, and is supported by Mac OS X 10.4 and higher, and iOS 5.0 and higher. This format is designed to overcome limitations of some older audio file formats, such as AIFF and WAV. CAF format uses 64-bit file offsets to break the 4GB file size limitation, so it can save hundreds of years of audio in one file. CAF supports compressed audio codec like AAC, MP3 and ALAC, so it uses less disk space than AIFF. What's more, CAF supports unlimited channels and metadata. Making lists within lists with list recorder
Hi, Sorry for being so lazy, but I just downloaded list recorder once more. I bought it originally when it first came out. But I found the interface rather too fussy so tended not to use it. Now, being more at home with my iPhone, I thought to try again. The first thing I did was to delete all the existing lists/files on the introduction page. This I did because I know that the help files drive me mad. They are so full of information that my brain switches off! So, can I cheat? What I need to know is this: is list recorder a basic tree hierarchy? I was hoping to create a list and then be able to select any item in that list and from that create a new list, is this right? If it is, I can't see how to do it. HOw to create a list within a list… Plus, I do not wish to use the recording functions, I only choose to use text at the moment. Re: Making lists within lists with list recorder
Hi Sandy, First, double tap on the list commands button then, double tap on insert item, then on insert empty list. You will want to clear the title text and put in your own and hit OK. Then, open that list by double tapping on it and then double tap on the edit button in the upper right-hand corner and pick the first item that says 0 edit add new item. If you want a list within a list just first repeat the first steps to create an empty list within the first list and then add new items. List recorder
Hi all, I downloaded list recorder on to my I phone 5 the other day. I've also went through the introduction of this app. But what I want to know is what is the best recording format to record meetings in? Also, when I go back to listen and replay the recording of the meeting, I will be typing out the meeting on the computer because it will be the Lions meetings I will be recording and then going back and listening to the cording as I type up the recording for the Secretary's minutes. So since list recorder doesn't have a rewind or a past forward buttons I'm assuming that I can pause the play back recording as much as I wish so I can type up what is being said right? Thanks. RE: List recorder
The best format is the one you would prefer to use. I'd suggest the m4a because that will allow you to append at the end of a recording or prefix something at the beginning of a recording if you want. List Recorder responds to the two finger double tap to pause and play or to the use of the button on the ear buds. So, you will be able to pause as you need to. You can use the percentage to try and go back, but that is rather tricky and often ends up with you going back farther than you wanted to. chose List recorder
Hi all, Well I chose list recorder for my recording app. I have already downloaded list recorder from the app store to my I phone 5. Also, I have gone through the introduction of List recorderand listened to all seven interductry listings. But I haven't tried using it yet. I think I will like this app a lot. I did have to pay for this app $7.99. Has anyone of you ever used list recorder and how do you like it? Take care. List recorder not deleting lists.
Hello folks, I have had list recorder for some time now. I along with many others, have upgraded to ios 7. Now I am unable to delete a list which is either full or empty from the home screen. Any suggestions would be helpful. I seem to be able to get to the point where I can select the list I want to get rid of, but then the screen seems to freeze. Thanks in advance. app or list recorder for email
Need to ask again. Is there a way to send a whole list via email in List Recorder or is there an app that would allow me to add items daily for some days and then let me send via email? Re: I recorded A Call With List Recorder
Thanks to all the people who told me how to do this, per your request, here is the procedure for recording a call using List Recorder. First open List Recorder. Then hit the home key to close it. This will put List Recorder in your app switcher. Now make your phone call. Have your phone on speaker phone. Once you call is made go into your app switcher and open List Recorder again. Then find the record button and press it. A little guitar strum will play, and then you can start your recording. Once you finish the call stop the recording there will be a stop button. If you have any other questions please let me know. God bless, Ren P. S. You need to have your phone on speaker because List Recorder will not record if your phone is not an speaker your voice will be recorded live and the other persons voice will come through the speaker. It does work. It takes some practice to do it, but it really can be done. Recording Phone calls, was: I recorded A Call With List Recorder
Hello, I had a look at your 2 app suggestions, Call Recorder - phone calls recorder by William Wood and TapeACall Lite - Record Calls by Epic Enterprises. Here are my thoughts: First, Apple does not allow the recording of phone calls because in many jurisdictions it is illegal to do that. Now, the fact that List Recorder and there are a few other apps that can do this, can record a call that is in progress on the speakerphone is a fluke and if Apple was told about it they would pull these apps until the developers would disable this capability. As for the 2 apps you mentioned: Call Recorder is a VoIP app and that changes the game. Just about any VoIP app I know of has a recording function. This means you can make calls with the app via VoIP and record these calls. While I didn't see it in the app description, I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was some sort of notification or beep after you start recording, but the fact is that this would not work for incoming calls since there is no mention that the Call Recorder VoIP service provides an inbound number. I also didn't take a look at their rates, but they do state that after whatever trial credit they give you, you have to buy minutes from them and of course you have to place your call via WiFi or 3G/KLTE, the latter will use up cellular data. Tape A Call is like any other call recorder app out there, it records calls using a server and 3-way calling. Here is what it says in the app description: How does this app record calls? When you're on a call and you want to record it, open TapeACall and press the record button. We will put your call on hold and dial our recording line. As soon as our line answers tap the merge button on your screen to create a 3 way call between your other caller and our recording line. If you want to record an outgoing call, just press the record button. The app will dial our recording line and will begin recording as soon as our line answers. Once that happens, tap the add call button on your screen, call the person you want to record, then press the merge button when they answer. The say we will dial our recording line which means you are possibly dialing a long distance number. Most of such services require a subscription. Tape a Call says that with their Pro app which is $10 you do not have to pay any subscriptions which I guess could be a good thing if you really need to frequently record calls, but it's not a smooth process, i.e. if you receive a call and want to record it, you will have to let the other person know, bring up the app, tap on Record and wait for the app to dial the recording line/server, then merge the calls which requires that you have 3-way calling as a feature from your provider. Once you call is made go into your app switcher and open List Recorder again. Then find the record button and press it. A little guitar strum will play, and then you can start your recording. Once you finish the call stop the recording there will be a stop button. If you have any other questions please let me know. God bless, Ren P. S. Re: Recording Phone calls, was: I recorded A Call With List Recorder
Hi. If I may add to what Sieghard has said, those call-recording solutions which use three-way calling are not usually worth the money. Keep in mind that you can set up such a system with nothing more than a small amount of technical knowledge and a cheap Skype or VOIP number. This allows you to keep the call recordings under your own control on your own systems. It also allows you to act on the recordings, that is, to have them emailed when done, to have them posted to a site or cloud storage service, to have links SMSed to them, etc. Finally, it allows you to dispense with notifications if your jurisdiction is one where notifications of recording are not legally required. It may also be worth noting that you can set up a VOIP pBX so that every call you make or receive is recorded, whether in or out. I hope that's of use. RE: Need help with the technique to make a phone call with List Recorder. Thank you.
Chris, is there a connection to recording phone calls? You might want to look for Raul's reminder about high jacking threads. I had a look at the app description and it talks about a lot of music apps that this can be used with, there is no mention that is can act as a virtual audio cable between the Phone app and any recording apps. Re: Need help with the technique to make a phone call with List Recorder. Thank you.
Hi Lea, You need to do this in the other order for it to work. First make your call. Then once you have done that open list recorder and start a recording. Remember this will be recording your voice live and the other person from the speaker. So you need to also keep your phone in speaker mode. Re: Need help with the technique to make a phone call with List Recorder. Thank you.
You need to make the call first. You then put the call on speakerphone. Next, press home or double-tap home to app switcher and open List Recorder. Finally, start recording. Starting a phone call automatically stops all built-in recording apps. list recorder full version contact
Hi, I am one of the team members who developed List Recorder. So if you have questions, send them my way. I will share them with the team and see if we can offer help. I think Eric has already provided the information about updating, so I won't go there again. I will say that this is not an app we currently spend a lot of time updating, but who knows, if it is really fitting people's needs, we might take a look at what other things we can do within reason. So, I'll do my best to explain. Now, if in the end, I can't get a resolution due to my idiot action today, then shame on me. Didn't we establish a few days ago that the I in the name stands for idiot? In any case, here's the problem. I was doing some app maintenance on my phone and saw that I had two apps in the recording folder. List Recorder and List Recorder Full. I erased List Recorder Full by mistake and then realized that it's the one I actually needed over just List Recorder. So, I went to the app store and purchased it. I should have known something wasn't right when I hit the $7.99 button, which turned into a buy button and then after I pressed enter on my password, I didn't get a notification that I had already purchased the app, blah blah. So, I looked at my purchase history and sure enough, it shows a pending charge for $7.99 plus tax for List Recorder Full. Back in July last year I had purchased List Recorder for 99 cents and then did the in-app purchase for $7.99 to get the full version. Some time from then until now, the app split into two apps, one called List Recorder and one called List Recorder Full. So, I figured the apps had split, meaning one was the lite version and instead of the in-app purchase, one would get the full version for $7.99. Since I had already purchased the full version due to the in-app purchase, I didn't feel right that I should be charged again for this purchase. So, I wrote apple about this, providing them with the purchase of List Recorder Full, and the order for the one last year in July which shows the in-app purchase. I got a response from them saying that the apps are technically different since one was an in-app purchase, and the one I got today was a separate app for the full version. In short, tough luck. So, I'm wondering if I should follow up with this and see about getting escalated to see if they will reconsider not charging me considering that I will now have two versions of this full app technically. Of course I did this all on the same Apple ID and all that, so it's not a question of IDs. Technically they are right because they are two app versions, but I can't figure out why I had both List Recorder and List Recorder Full on my phone to begin with since the in-app purchase didn't add another app to my phone, it just unlocked the original app. So, am I the idiot for doing the purchase again, or do you guys think I have a case? Heck, I'd even be willing to let Apple keep the $7.99 in exchange for a gift card for that amount since I will still continue to purchase apps. -- Raul A. RE: app refund problem with list recorder full version
Hi Raul, As I helped in the development of this app, let me see what we can do on our end. I can make no promises, because the App store should have known that you had already purchased this app, but it may have gotten confused by the fact that there are two versions. Who knows, but I'll check in to this. Not sure what your financial state is but if it was me I'd drop the whole thing and write it off as a learning experience. I unnderstand the principle of the thing but other factors such as how much is your time and agravation worth com into play it seems to me. So that's my two cents. RE: List recorder recording volume
Hi Negoslav, There are 4 gestures which actually aren't gestures so much as motions, tilt left, tilt right, flip back and tilt forward. There is tilt left and right. Think of holding a glass of water, tilt left would be tipping the glass towards the leftand tilt right would be tipping it to the right. With List recorder you would hold your iPhone in a similar fashion, mostly vertically in front of you. If, for example, you are in a Note or Voice Memo you created and want to go back, you can double tap the Back button at the top left of the screen or you can tilt your phone to the left about 45 degrees or so just as you would tip a glass to poor out the water. The iPhone's built-in gyroscope detects that motion and the developer of List Recorder programmed the app so that a left tilt goes back one level. I can't recall right now what tilt right does, but tilting it forward (bring the top of the phone towards you if you are holding it in front of you) will read the task bar and a snappy tilt back or as they call it backflip will bring up the delete dialogue. Re: List recorder recording volume
Hi Fanus, No You can't increase the volume but you can increase the recording quality. I think the default is 22 KHZ you can up it to CD quality in the settings area. That may give you the higher recording level you are asking about. Hope that helps. Re: reminders app vs list recorder
Denice, List Recorder is a wonderful app but I would never use it as a straight reminders app. One big reason at least for me is that Siri works great with reminders so I can simply invoke Siri and say remind me to call the doctor tomorrow at 9am. Siri sets the reminder for you and you get the appropriate alarm at the correct time. If you wanted to get fancy which I personally don't do, you can even set reminders based on locations if you have location services turned on. Re: List recorder on ipad mini
Hi Denise, I recently talked to the List Recorder developer and the fix that was submitted just before the holidays has been approved by Apple. So, the update that will fix this bug should appear soon. It is just a matter of time for the App Store to do it's thing. Once that arrives and you update, you will find List Recorder working correctly again and even a few improvements. Re: reminders app vs list recorder
Hi, A couple of big differences are that List Recorder doesn't play an alarm to remind you to do something; it's just a way to keep lists. On the other hand, you can record those lists, write text, or do both in List Recorder. Re: Do not download List Recorder 2.4.2 update
Hello Listers, There are two versions of List Recorder in the app store. List Recorder Full version 2.2 has the newist updates and works correctly. this can be updated or purchased as a new app. this app is $7.99 and has the full features. the other app is just called List Recorder. this one is .99 cents and is a light version when first purchased. after trying this version a in app purchase for $7.99 updates the app with the complete features. It is this version that has a bug in the newest 2.4.2 release. the fix for this bug has all ready been submitted to Apple. Unfortunately Apple may be closing soon for the Christmas holiday so it is possible that the update may not show up until after they open again. If your device shows the List Recorder app please wait for the new virsion. If your updating List Recorder Full you are good to update. The new version will be 2.4.3. Time permitting I will soon do a podcast showing the newest changes to List Recorder. Re: List Recorder crashing
Oh, it's quite a long passage, over 3,000 words. I wanted to use List Recorder as sort of a journal app, because I figured I could combine text and audio entries as desired, and have a virtually unlimited writing space per day. I also figured if ever I wanted to change the way I stored my journal, I'd easily be able to export the lists, and of course they'd be backed up automatically by iOS. However I figured out pretty quickly that this wasn't going to work out, because I guess the app wasn't meant to handle my long ramblings. :) Grant On 10/30/12, Eric Caron ecar...@comcast.net wrote: Hi Grant, I've never heard of this happening before. Re: List Recorder crashing
Hi Grant, I shared your problem with the List Recorder developer and she was able to reproduce your problem. This means that it will be fixed in the next release. Thank you for bringing this up. List Recorder improvements depend on user suggestions and fixes depend on reproducible problems. Keep the suggestions and feedback coming. I ask because I'm trying to paste a rather large chunk of text that I have on the clipboard into an item, and it simply causes List Recorder to consistently crash. Re: List Recorder and multitasking.
Hi Gabriele, I talked about it with her and she added it to her list of changes people might like. I think she found ios5 didn't allow for it but maybe it is different in ios6. Voice Recorder is a Apple app and often they can do things in their app that developers can't. I think it would be fine to make this the List Recorder default behavior as long as it is supported. Re: List Recorder and multitasking.
Hi Gabriel, Any stream you play in Ootunes is automatically recorded. I think that's true of many other radio apps as well. That would probably be the best way to record a radio program you're listening to. Best, Anna On Oct 27, 2012, at 11:48 PM, Gabriel Battaglia \(Kriyaban\) iz4...@libero.it wrote: Hi all. I wanted to record a Podcast over the VOCwKeyer app using List Recorder 2.4.1 on my iPad3. Once to start recording, I pressed the Home key in order to open the App I wanted to cover but I've found out the recording process stops. Is it a normal behaviour? As I remarked List Recorder continues to record even with screen locked, I eroneously thought It is able to record on background also. If it doesn't record in background assuming I only have my iPad3 as a device to record, what application may I use? Thanks for help.
