HI Kathy, My husband Grant used to receive notifications from Weather Gods also but no longer does. He also has an iPhone 8 running IOS 16.2 He thinks that perhaps they want you to pay for this feature now or that is how it appears. It's too bad! I’m guessing you’ve also gone into settings, my account, restore purchases? I lost my notifications as well, and I am thinking the restore purchases is what did it for me to bring them back. Under My Account in the app store, I find buttons labelled Purchased, Subscriptions, Notifications, Redeem Gift Card or Code, Send Gift Card by Email, Add Money to Account, Set Up Family Sharing, and Personalized Recommendations. My apps are all up to date, so the list of recently updated apps appears below those buttons. At the bottom of the screen is a sign out button. I'm not finding restore purchases. Did you pay for an in app purchase for Weather Gods? Don't recall whether there was a charge for the app back in 2019 when my husband installed this app. He does not have anything about restore purchases. The only thing that there seems to do is to purchase an upgrade for certain features for $1.49 per month. Yes, I do have the $1.49 per month subscription. If I’m on the main screen of the app and I flick to the right once past settings, I see how many notifications are enabled for the active city and I can double tap on that and find a pause notifications button for the particular city. Or if I actually go into settings and then keep flicking right to notifications, once I double tap on notifications, the first thing I hear there is pause all notifications, and if I flick to the right one more time from there, I hear the button for the morning and evening schedule. Well I did everything suggested there in that article with no luck. Completely reinstalled and restored purchases. I don't have a weather gods current subscription, however I do have the grandfathered plan from when I first bought it several years ago. Restoring purchases brought that functionality back, but no notifications. I enabled the daily summary to arrive at 7:00 PM and nothing came at 7:00. When I got my notifications back, I went and deleted a city I no longer needed. When I did that, though, for a few hours after that, I still got that city notifications. I’m only saying this because possibly it may take a few hours for your notifications to come back. That’s only a thought, though. Yes my notifications came back this morning. so it does take a little time to get things working again after reinstalling weather gods. The first ones don't apply: my phone is not on Do Not Disturb; notifications are not inadvertently turned off, and my news and delivery apps still send me notifications. The article refers to a "reset network settings" under General settings. I find no such thing. I am coming close to deciding that the app is becoming too complicated to be workable and that I should cancel my subscription and uninstall. I’m really sorry that things aren’t working for you with this app. As for the reset network settings, you would go to settings, general, transfer or reset iPhone, reset, and finally reset network settings. If you decide to do this, you will then need to put back in your Wi-Fi password and rename your iPhone afterwards. I’m sure we can help with that if necessary. Resetting the network settings is one of the tools that is often used to try and fix things. Per the developer, I uninstalled the app yet again, powered off the phone, re-started, and re-downloaded Weather Gods. Nothing changed. Since notifications on other apps work, the reset you are describing seems a bit drastic to me. I have uninstalled Weather Gods and canceled my subscription. If I'm ever forced to get a new phone, perhaps I'll re-visit Weather Gods, if it's still available. Regarding Weather Gods notifications, I was not receiving them either. All I did was open the Weather Gods app and let it just kind of stay on for a couple of minutes and then before I knew it I was getting notifications so it all seems to work good for me now. RE: I no longer receive notifications from Weather Gods app
I uninstalled, rebooted the phone, and re-installed Weather Gods twice. I checked settings within the app; it said notifications needed to be enabled in the Settings app. When I opened Settings, Notifications and looked for Weather Gods on the list, it didn't show up. It should have appeared right after the native weather app. When I tried using Search at the top of the settings screen, several things like looked like filenames containing Weather Gods, Acknowledgements, and other verbiage appeared. For now, I have removed the app from my phone and canceled my subscription. Notifications still come in from my news and delivery apps. I suggest all of us who have had this problem write to the developer, as I have done. I further suggest we allow this topic to die unless a Weather Gods update comes out. I checked settings within the app; it said notifications needed to be enabled in the Settings app. When I opened Settings, Notifications and looked for Weather Gods on the list, it didn't show up. It should have appeared right after the native weather app. When I tried using Search at the top of the settings screen, several things like looked like filenames containing Weather Gods, Acknowledgements, and other verbiage appeared. For now, I have removed the app from my phone and canceled my subscription. Notifications still come in from my news and delivery apps. I suggest all of us who have had this problem write to the developer, as I have done. I further suggest we allow this topic to die unless a Weather Gods update comes out. Hi, I'm sorry from further reading you didn't get the resolution you wanted. I've found that sometimes if the app misbehaves it's best to disable all notifications I've set within the app and then re-enabling them being careful to be sure my designated place for them when required is set.
