Saving a Voice Memo to My Windows PC

2013-10-13 Thread Robin Christopherson
Guys
Apologies if this has been mentioned already as I haven’t been following this
thread but I use Dropvox (with a ‘v’) which is fabulously easy. You can set it
up so that when you open it it automatically starts recording and when you
close it by pressing the home button it uploads the file to a folder in your
Dropbox. It’s so simple it’s crazy.
Thanks, Robin.

Robin, I just used Dropvox yesterday. It's reliable and easy to use,
isn't it?

Re: Saving a Voice Memo to My Windows PC

2013-10-12 Thread Arianna
Just curious, but why do you want to convert the file to a different format?
Most media players for computers can handle m4a files if they're DRM-free, and
the voice memos that iOS makes certainly are avoid of DRM. Most portable media
players can also handle these types of files.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't converting a file from one
format to another degrade its quality?

Thanks,
Ari

Hello, Ari.

I have a very old Windows XP notebook that won't read m4a files. The
friend who wants the file also has an old machine. However, I decided
not to convert the file for him right off the bat. I sent him the m4a
file and will convert it only if he needs me to do so. You are right
that sometimes, a file converted to another type may be degraded if
the bandwidth of the resulting file is not as liberal as the source
file.

Hi, Where on your computer did you find them?

I use Pazera audio extractor to convert m4a to mp3.

It's free.

I have now found all of the voice memo files, which are stored in m4a
format. What is the easiest way to convert any one of these files to either
a wav or mp3 file?

Thank youfor all help.

the easiest way to do this?

 Thank you for all help.

RE: Saving a Voice Memo to My Windows PC

2013-10-11 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Craig,

You could use any of many many conversion utilities. You can also use
iTunes, just go to Preferences and make sure you select MP3 as the encoder
under Import Settings which is in the General Tab. Then if you add the
folder which contains your voice memos to your music library, you can just
right click on the vpoice memo and select Create MP3 version.

Regards,
Sieghard
