I have a paid account. In my Dropbox history I have had 6 devices, and
at the moment I think it says that I've 3 devices linked. (That is, and
older iPhone and my present iPhone, and my present pc.)

My reinstalled Dropbox recognised my current iPhone - and didn't count
it as another device.

I for one would log inm to your account and see how many devices are

that doesn't count as a new device.

Sieghard,

That figures. The problem is more likely to be that the desktop's
Dropbox may not be, for whatever reason, showing online when you think
it is.

Last week, when I had the problem, after an iOS update, I uninstalled
Dropbox from my iPhone and then afterwards reinstalled it. I hoped
that solved whatever is the problem. My Dropbox worked mutually until
about Sunday anyway. Yesterday, when the problem showed itself to me
again, I entertained the possibility that it might be some other
issue, common to Dropbox users of iPhone and (Windows) PC. and thus my
raising it here.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your ideas.

You'd think that, by several hours after a reboot, Dropbox would have
sorted itself out?

(It seems to occur after a lapse of days when I haven't used it to
transfer files. The cause, an iOS update? A Windows update? Whatever
else? Who knows.)

Nonetheless, I've done a reboot the odd time in this situation, and
things appeared to sort themselves out quickly enough afterwards -
whether that was by coincidence or design.

Hello,

I have the iOS (current up-to-date published version) of Dropbox, and
the Dropbox Desktop app for Windows.

Sometimes, when I wish to share a file with others, and drop my file
into their folder shared with me, using my Desktop's Dropbox, it's not
shared or being seen by those others with whom the folders are shared.
(I can ascertain that this will be the case and is, if, as sometimes
happens, the files aren't being seen by me on my iPhone either, in the
folders.)

The current solution I've found to this is to connect my iPhone to my
PC, and with a bit of navigating and what-not, getting both my Dropboxes
to see each other on-line.

Has anyone else experienced this anomaly, and have you solved it without
recourse to uninstalling either the iOS version or the Windows Desktop
version of Dropbox?

I have found Dropbox to be quite opaque, when trying to ferret out issues.

Re: Dropbox problem between iPhone and computer.

2024-06-13 Thread Mike B.
Hi Flor,

What I've found to be the most common culprit when this happens is that
Dropbox is showing in the system tray like it's connected to the server, but
in all actuality it's not running / connected to the Dropbox server. Try
starting Dropbox using your desktop icon shortcut, or rebooting the computer
and restarting Dropbox that way.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers!

Subject: Dropbox problem between iPhone and computer.

Help appreciated.

Another Dropbox Problem

2017-03-04 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi List,

I think we've covered the problem with Dropbox version 36.2 and its
Voiceover bug but I wanted to update you on what I'm now experiencing. I
deleted Dropbox 36.2 and reinstalled version 34.2 after the bug. Version
34.2 had been working fine for me but now when I place focus on the Dropbox
app icon, I get a "Waiting" response from Voiceover and double tapping the
app does nothing. I guess the problem that others have reported about being
unable to open the app have now reached me.

I'm curious whether others are getting this waiting response and just what
others are experiencing with the app. I can't even get Dropbox to uninstall
because when I go through the steps to uninstall it, the app is still there
after I confirm deletion.

I hope the fix comes out soon as reported because they've made a pig's
breakfast of this last upgrade.

Alan

I actually noticed that when I tried to save a file the other day. When I
looked more closely, I just had to choose a location to save it. Once I chose
a location, then all worked fine.

Try swiping past the save button until you get to the choose location button.
When you get to where you want to save the file, there is a choose button at
the bottom of the screen that you have to double tap to choose that location.

It will then take you back to the save button, it should no longer be dimmed
out.

Hope this helps,

Re: Dropbox problem

2016-10-15 Thread Helga Schreiber
Hi. Simon. I'm not experiencing that problem. Did you check if your internet is
working? And did you close all your apps, and then try again? I'm running IOS
10.2 on my iPhone 6S. And also did you turn your phone off and then did yu turn
your phone on? And are you sure your dropbox is not full right? Just wondering.
I look forward in hearing from you soon. Thanks and God bless!

It's been a while since I've done this, but I think a three finger swipe
right (or maybe left) until you get to the last page, will let you sign
in. It's been discussed on list a bit, so if I'm wrong, you can check
 the archives.

Dropbox problem

2013-12-06 Thread Cheryl Homiak
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but haven't found it.

I have two iPhones: a 5 and a 5S. Dropbox is fine on my 5. But on my 5S, I get
a page that says welcome and tells me to sign in if I already have an account
but I see no button, link or anything else to double tap. There seems to be no
way to sign in. What am I missing?

Thanks.
