Hi Peter

As I understand it you would have two options.

1. Convert your video files to a format that iTunes recognises. I use
applications such as iSquint and Visual Hub to convert video files to iTunes
compatible formats. Once in iTunes it is simply a matter of syncing with the
AppleTV.

2. Hack the AppleTV to play other formats/sources. This is one that I have
not tried, but there is quite a bit of information available on how to do a
software hack of the AppleTV to use other sources and formats. Just google
'Apple TV hacks' and have read at the options. But hacking involves forcing
an update of the firmware, so can cause warranty issues.

Hope that helps!

TV show need conversion for iTunes/Apple TV to be able to handle the
resulting file type?

Maybe there are more elegant ways of handling this as there are most likely
a series of operations to actually get it visible/audible.

If I can understand how this works, it might help me prior to purchase of an
Apple TV.

iMac g5 logic Board oops!

2009-01-23 Thread Jack Bauer

Hi all

Has anyone out there replace the logic board on a g5 iMac 17 inch i
think it's the Hero model M9248LL/A 1.6 or 1.8 Ghz.

The reason why i'm asking is friends of mine are giving it to me ,
they are purchasing a new model, the price of a new logic board would
of cost more than new mac, there must be cheaper way to get a new
logic board than pay $2000 for it. Any suggestion would be greatly
appreciated .

ps. i was typing this e-mail in apple's Mail went to make a coffee
and it sent it while i haven't finish typing ,I hate when MAIL does
that. I've checked the settings but couldn't find anything there.

Open Office 3 :

The system requirements show OSX 10.4 on an intel Mac

Your emac will be a Power Mac , not an Intel Mac .

Bob

You may find an older version of Open Office that will work on a

Iphone coming

2008-03-25 Thread Jack/Bauer
I heard on the radio this afternoon that Telstra and Optus are bidding for
the iphone for there network,
Man! I don't want to change my network I'm with 3g Australia, and they have
had 3g for about 5 years experience .but it's all about who's got (Show Me
The Money) slogan .

Before you know Apple will have 99.999e % market share of
the cell phones. ;-
