2011-11-07 Thread Ronda Brown
Hey Peta,

You are exactly so right … ‘A wife’ does it all!
My sister told me years ago “she needed a wife” when she was working full time
as head of Special Education Unit in Victoria.
The Department was for students with higher than normal intelligence (gifted
children).

I do have groceries etc delivered to my door, also prepared meals, … the
‘stopping' what I’m doing to actually ‘whack a meal in the microwave’ and sit
down and actually eat it, is the part I have to work on ... ;-)

Have a good day.

Cheers,
Ronni

hahaha.
Yeh Overtime. That's in there with Holiday Pay and Sick Pay :oP
Or charging for exactly what you work,...lol.
(Sleeps overrated anyway,..besides there's never enough time in the day to get
everything done you want to,..let alone by the time you've finished the
work,..before you start it all again, lol)

You should always worry that when your Accountant tells you that if you worked
for a Fast Food Outlet (eg Chicken Treat) you'd probably make the same amount
of money for a part time job there then you would for the same amount of all
the hours you put in as a Consultant
That always makes you feel good,...LOL

And lol to affording your team,..hehe :)

Re: Purchasing OS Lion on App Store

2011-11-07 Thread RJDarts
Morning,

Another installer is to create your own USB thumb drive.
I would suggest to utilise 8GB as you can add other necessary files to thumb
drive for installing.
i.e… Xcode, MacPorts,Lion Server, Apps you cannot live without etc…

Create then simply reboot machine holding down option choose drive installed in
minutes.
Remember to create drive before using file as OS X Lion will delete installer.
This does not happen with thumb drive as it is re-usable.

Ronni - actually you need a wife (the old fashioned sort) - a wife does all of
the above and more.

There are many women "out there" who could do with a wife. SIRI sounds pretty
good though.

Hey, buying food - try online for your groceries to be delivered.

Take care Ronni,

Hi Stuart,

Overtime … what is that?
My friends and family are always concerned I don’t find time to sleep or eat
properly, I just keep on doing what I do.
I need a team of people to look after the everyday stuff of living (organising
the paying of the bills, the maintenance of house & grounds, the finances,
buying food and cooking it etc etc ) … So I can just concentrate on what I
love doing.

If I charged my consulting fee for support work I do for WAMUG … I could afford
to hire this team ;-))

Cheers,
Ronni

 Hi blitto,

The simplest way to avoid re-downloading Lion on all your Mac computers is
to simply copy the Lion Installation app, that you

The installation app is just downloaded into the /Applications folder and

I purchased a copy of Lion on the Mac App Store, how many computers can I

The software license agreement (SLA) permits you to “download, install,

Re: Purchasing OS Lion on App Store

2011-11-05 Thread Ronda Brown
You’re welcome Blitto,

Just in case you wish to create a bootable DVD Lion Install disc.

How to burn a Lion boot disc:

OS X Lion will be distributed via the Mac App Store, and you can download the
installer files to your hard drive.
Once you have the installer files, follow these steps to create your very own
boot disc:

1. Use Finder to locate the Mac OS X Lion installer, right-click
(control-click) and select "Show Package Contents."

2. Find the SharedSupport folder and look for a file named "InstallESD.dmg."
This is the Lion Boot Disc image.

3. Copy the "InstallESD.dmg" file to another folder, such as your desktop.

4. Launch Disk Utility and click the burn button.

5. Select the "InstallESD.dmg" copy as the image to burn, insert a DVD, and in
a few minutes, you will have a brand new Lion Boot Disc.

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi blitto,

The simplest way to avoid re-downloading Lion on all your Mac computers is to
simply copy the Lion Installation app, that you download from one computer, to
all the other computers.

The installation app is just downloaded into the /Applications folder and is
named Mac OS X Installer.
Simply copy this file to your other computers and run it for the Lion Installer
– it will be just as if you had downloaded it onto all of your Macs.

PLEASE NOTE: The Lion Installer does actually delete this file once it starts
the Lion Installation so make sure you copy the Installation files before you
run the installation otherwise you will have to re-download it all.

I purchased a copy of Lion on the Mac App Store, how many computers can I
install it on?

The software license agreement (SLA) permits you to “download, install, use and
run” one copy of Lion on all Mac’s that you “own or control”. So effectively if
you own 10 Mac computers you can purchase just one copy of Lion from the Mac
App Store and you are good to install it on all 10 of those. Below is the
actual section from the SLA relevant to this question:

“2B(i) to download, install, use and run for personal, non-commercial use, one
(1) copy of the Apple Software directly on each Apple-branded computer running
Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server (“Mac Computer”) that you
own or control;”
