Rockin' the Beat With the Fleet

2010-07-14 Thread Jensnanny
Bobby, I see where your record is number 67 on Ike Godsey's list of recordings
in Walton's Mountain, VA tho Cora Beth prefers Keevy Hazleton's type of music.

Over in Milwaukee it is the 2nd most played recording on the jukebox @ Arnold's
Drive-In according to owner Arnold Takahashi.

Mr Martini of Martini's Bar in Bedford Falls says it is the #1 most played song
on his "juke-a-box"

The only downside I heard is that Clara Edwards of Mayberry, NC prefers Hippy
Harrison. Just because her brother plays in the band is no excuse to dislike
this song.

What does your brother Freddy think of the song?

Two Chairs No Waiting 92: Floyd & Bert – Bu siness Partners?

2010-07-14 Thread Allan Newsome

Two Chairs No Waiting 92: Floyd & Bert – Business Partners?

To celebrate episode 92 we thought it would be nice to have Floyd host
the show. To paraphrase Floyd, “Ninety-two, people always talking about
podcast but nobody does anything about it.”

Floyd shares a flashback with us of a time when Bert Miller dropped by
the barber shop with a business idea for Floyd. Enjoy this flashback and
we hope you’ll let it take you to the land of rhythm and pleasure or at
least to a scene in Mayberry that we never witnessed but now we get to hear.

Thanks to Joe Gritton (a.k.a. “The Untrained Voice”) for writing our
“flashback!” This episode would NOT have happened without him. Joe also
wrote the flashback in episode #17 so check that out too.

I hope you enjoy it!

Andy's gun

2010-07-14 Thread David Burch
Andy fired a pistol only three times:

A) Signalling the beginning of "paces" in the feud,
2) Finding out that Barney's gun really was loaded after Gentleman Dan handed
it to Andy and
C) Shooting the tire in the counterfeiters' station wagon.

This is from the FAQ on Mayberry.com.

awesome!!!!!!!!!!

2010-07-14 Thread jlj9675
Well, fellow Mayberrians, if you want the ultimate experience in feeling you
are finally in our beloved hometown, then all you have to do is visit with
Marsha and Dave at their Taylor Home Inn at Clear Lake, WI. It was all I could
do to fight the tears at such an emotional high! Not only will the sight of the
outside of the house knock your socks off, the details of the inside will
render you speechless; however, Marsha manages to sprinkle what I call Andyisms
throughout her conversation while taking you thru everything. I felt like I had
met my "soul sister" at last as we both knew exactly what we referred to at all
times. But wait, there's more! In the basement is an authentic re-creation of
the courthouse. I'm not kidding! I got to sit in Andy's chair and pretend to
answer the phone. My little Thel got incarcerated in cell #1. Now I'm not done
yet - out back behind the garage is a replica of Wally's fillin' station right
down to the pop cooler! This sojourn has been the highlight of my trip and I
can hardly wait to return someday for a longer visit. These lovely folks have
put so much heart into their "labour of love" that it shows vividly. The entire
property is beautiful and well-kept. I cannot recommend it enough, honest. Now
hold onto your hats, cuz Marsha will have some big news in a few days (aw, big
ain't the word for it!) - you'll be so tickled when you hear!!!

Andy shooting a pistal

2010-07-14 Thread Harriet Browder

I may have mixed up my episodes. Maybe it was the Aunt Bee and the printers
episode. Dang, this getting old is terribleI need to dig out my DVDs before
spouting off at the mouth.

"See that foot? How could that foot, that great big foot, all of it, fit in my
mouth?"

Missing Laugh Tracks

2010-07-14 Thread Ken Anderson
I had problems with missing laughter too. But mine was a bit different. I
was the emcee of a banquet one time and did a lot of jokes about
the coaches and players. Even got to roast NFL start Tim Kromrey at that
time. I had my wife record the entire thing. But then when we watched
it at home everything was there except all during my joke segments there was
no laughter. I bet it was the same problem that they had with the

gun

2010-07-14 Thread kim
Andy didn't shoot a pistol, but he picked one up from the top of the hutch
when Luke Comstock was coming to his house. Also when Mayor Stoner
complains that Andy doesn't wear a gun and Barney doesn't have bullets, Andy
says he'll get a gun and give Barney bullets. Then they'd both shoot at
whatever criminal the Mayor was worried about.

missing laugh tracks

2010-07-14 Thread eric swolgaard

Am happy to finally receive from Paramount pictures the 2 discs from Season 4
that had several missing laugh tracks. It was kind of unsettling watching these
comedy shows with no laughter- felt sort of starngely serious like I was
watching a drama or soap opera instead of a comedy!
They require proof of purchase so I sent a photocopy of the dvd box. Address is
Paramount pictures, Melrose Ave, Hollywood CA 90038

Beetle Bailey and Mayberry

2010-07-14 Thread Ken Anderson
In the comics section in today's paper Beetle Bailey hit rather close to
Mayberry. Men were upset that Lt. Fuzz hung a picture of the General on the
wall. Problem was the general's eyes would follow everyone around. Wonder
if by any chance the General's last name would happen to be Rimshaw.
