Mayberry Collectable
Hello Mayberry friends, I am thinking of working on a project if there is any interest in it. How many of you would be interested in a Mayberry Collectible Coin? The coin would be approx. 2 in diameter, double sided, silver plated in a velvet coin box. Cost would be no more than $15.00. This would be a high-quality collectible. These are a little pricey to produce so I'm wondering if it's worth my while to make them. It would probably be a limited run of around 200. Just wonderin'. Please don't reply to the digest. I'm not sure about Joanna Moore's singing (sounds like her though)but Elinor Donahue has told the story about her singing experience on the show. When she learned there would be singing in the episode she was very nervous. She'd never sung on camera before. She and Andy went into the studio where she told Andy that she was a little nervous. To put her at ease Andy suggested that they both sit on the floor and reherse. After they had practiced for a while she told Andy she thought that she was ready. Andy told her that they had been recording the whole time and they had what they needed. WHat a great testiment to how Andy took the pains to make her comfortable. Prayer Request
Hey folks, I hope Allan will forgive me for this post but I can't remember how to get to the Prayer board. Many of you know my mother, Ruth Spencer. She has come to many, many Mayberry events with me. She looks forward to every chance she gets to meet with her extended Mayberry family. Mom has been in declining health for the past year or so and her travels with me have all but come to a end. We finally talked her in to going to the Doctor for a checkup. The results have not been good. She is still undergoing tests - just about everyday. We are awaiting the official diagnosis soon. Mom is in good spirits considering all the poking and proding she has gone thru. I know she would greatly appreciate your good thoughts and prayers. If anyone would care to send her a card I know she would love to hear from you. Just tell her you are in the Mayberry Family. Eagle's Wings
Hey folks, I just wanted to remind everyone about the Annual Eagle's Wings weekend coming up in Tuscaloosa, AL next month. Eagle's Wings is a great organization and everyone should try to attend. All of our favorite Mayberry Tribute Artists will be there wowing the crowd. They will be having an auction on April 26. A silent auction begins at 6pm with a live auction starting up right after dinner. We have been working on an item for this years auction. Gibson Guitars graciously donated a beautiful guitar and we have been getting as many celebs as possible to sign it. We have been takling photos of the stars for an album that will accompany the guitar in the auction. So far we have 33 signatures ranging from Pat Summitt, Head Coach of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, to Academy Award winning Actor/Writer/Director Billy Bob Thornton. I have placed a small video of the signers on my website. Hey folks, I know some of our Mayberry friends will be in the Nashville area on Friday Dec. 7. I have a couple of tickets to the Grand Ol Opry for sale - 9:30pm show. color episodes
I think the reason why most folks are more partial to the black and white episodes is because they have seen them more. Most of the re-runs are the black and white ones. There are some really great story lines in the color episodes. Do yourself a favor and purchase the color seasons (from Weaver's) . The color is FANTASTIC! I was used to the washed out looking episodes that have been around for so long. The new DVD set looks like they were just made with brilliant and vivid color.
