Many thanks for putting my '08 Mayberry Days photos on line, but I have a
problem. When I try to view them, everything freezes. I have to use
"ctrl-alt-del" and start over. I have tried with both the first group and
second group
with the same results. Anyone else have that problem?
And a great big Thank You to Allan for "Nipping it in the bud." enough said!

Hello. I have been lurking here for a little over a month, and I would
like to hear from any of you with TAGS photo (still or digital) collections
who might be interested in trading for images from a large collection I
just obtained about a week ago. I also would like to "advertise," if this
is acceptable, a CD I have put together with a set of TAGS images from this
collection. If any of you are "40 Acres" fanatics like myself, I also have
a CD available with 49 scans (from the negatives) of photos shot of the
backlot's facades on November 13, 1961 during filming of "The
Manicurist." Even if you have no interest in buying or trading, please
have a look at some of these rare images. I will be updating this page
frequently, including adding more clickable links to web resolution versions:

Re: family photos

2006-11-21 Thread dixonhayes
***I meant on a regular basis that family pictures were not shown on the
walls or featured in any kind of prominent place where viewers could easily see
them each week. Yeah, for a special show, every now and then, a series might
pull out a photograph. But it's not the usual thing. Not then and not now.
The only exception that I recall is that show which starred the Olsen twins
(and for the life of me I cannot think of its title just now) but I do remember
seeing photographs of the kids on the mantle or somewhere else in the living
room.***

That's what I meant too. On "Leave It to Beaver," in additon to the finale,
there's a pic of a much younger Beaver and Wally that sits on their dresser,
and on "M*A*S*H," there's a framed photo of Colonel Potter's wife that can
almost always seen on his desk. (I'm told that's actually a photo of Spring
Byington, Harry Morgan's previous co-star on "December Bride.") In the later
years of "All in the Family" a framed photo of the Bunkers can be seen,
showing Gloria with her curly hair. But otherwise, you're right, those are
exceptions.

But speaking of one-timers, anyone remember when we saw some rare photographic
glimpses of young Andy and Young Barney?

Re: family photos

2006-11-20 Thread Marie
Mama's family had photos in the opening sequence and in early years of
The Jefferson the space near the telephone would alternate, one week
Lionel, one week Mother Jefferson, one week Weezy, etc.

The Simpsons has a Family photo on the staircase wall and one episode
they looked thru a snapshot album (as Aunt Bee called it) & the kids
noticed no photos of Maggie. After a long and involved story it was
revealed that Homer had put her baby pics up around his workstation tho,
of course they were never seen before and weren'r seen again

I'm sure Ray &Debra loved their kids but no photos that I remember in
any of the Barone residences, tho I think Robbie showed their wallet
photos off once

I can think of a few shows that feature family photos. "All in the Family,"
"M*A*S*H," "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" and "Leave It to Beaver" have
shown older photos of characters or photos of relatives we might otherwise
never see (like Colonel Potter's wife). Once on "Happy Days" we saw a photo of
Al's parents (they both looked just like Al) and the last episode of "Leave It
to Beaver" showed the family looking at a photo album.

a digital slide show featuring photos from every year. They are coming up short
on the first one in 1990, so if you have photos from the original Mayberry Days
(actually Day) in 1990 that you can send me as a .jpg, we would appreciate it.
Please email me at hey2goo...@yahoo.com. If you don't have scanning capability
and can USPS mail them, I will scan and return them. Contact me for more
details on that.

Thanks!

Jeff

photos and another discrepancy

2009-08-31 Thread jlj9675
Ken and any others with interesting photos: if you can scan them into the
computer and show a link, I surely would appreciate seeing them too! I
detected a discrepancy about Goober's age: in the punch in the nose episode
it is said that he was 5 at the time of the incident, which was 19 years
ago; when he buys the gas station, he states that he is 35 and this age is
corroborated in the car show episode when he says he went to auto school 15
years ago, assuming 2 years in the Army. Boy, did he age fast in a couple
years LOL!!!

Allan's photos and video

2011-07-30 Thread Janet Anderson
Allan, I enjoyed seeing all the photos you took at the Taylor Home Inn. Looks
like you and Jan had a great time! I also liked the video and noted that you
used "Poor Butterfly" as background music. (Thanks to the podcast, I now
recognize that song as soon as I hear it!)

Photos and What About Barney

2007-04-05 Thread bcq145
Thank you, Albert, for your lovely post.

Yes, the Dime Store has many delightful post cards to refresh your memories of
all the good times in Mayberry. We have one with a picture of the Milo Boys
coming back from the War; we have one of
Sarah's mama's hip right after she broke it at the bowling alley and after it's
nicely mended (bless her
heart); we have one of Barney and Juanita over at Morelli's with them Gypsies
playing in the background
(course you got to tip them a quarter every now and then); and we have a nice
picture of the roll of
tin foil that Barney used to collect as a child. So you hurry on in and see
the collection of beautiful post
cards we have at the Dime Store. You can look at them for free, but if you
want to take one of them home
it is going to cost you a dime.

As far as the description Ken sent in that the writers wrote about our Barney,
I will say this: it was fairly
accurate EXCEPT if a person really studied the show, they left a big ingredient
out of Barney's character
and that ingredient was h-e-a-r-t. And that, my friends, made all the
difference in turning the Barney
Fife character (which could have been annoying) into someone we are still
loving all these years later.

Andy Griffith Show signed photos

2006-01-19 Thread gcwedo

I saw the post about wanting a signed photo from the Andy Griffith Show. It was
stated "price is no object" That is exactly what the forgers on sites like eBay
count on.

I have been dealing in Mayberry signatures for over 25 years. I have a page on
my web site:

http://mayberryemporium.net/html/buying_autographs_online.html

Check it out. I just hate to see people throw their money away.

Whew...that's a bunch of linking but I hope you guys are enjoying
things. I'm just glad to know y'all are getting to see some of what
I've been doing around Mayberry when I was missing from adding daily

Cameras and Photos in Mayberry

2017-04-19 Thread John Graham
I could only come up with 5 TAGS episodes that mention cameras or
photos. The first is episode #41," Crime Free Mayberry". In this episode
about a phony FBI man presenting Andy and Barney an award for a very low
crime rate in Mayberry. In the episode, the phony newsman takes a picture
of Andy and the phony FBI man. The second episode is #85, "The Great
Filling Station Robbery". In this episode, Barney sets up a camera in the
filling station to take a picture of who is breaking in. He actually takes
a photo of himself.
The third episode id #168, "The Hollywood Party. In this episode, Helen
becomes jealous when Andy is in Hollywood for filming "Sheriff Without a
Gun" and she sees publicity photos of Andy and Darlene Mason (Ruta Lee), of
the two in Mason's dressing room. The fourth episode is #203, "Only A
Rose". In this episode Clare says Aunt Bee should win the rose contest
after seeing a photo of Bee's rose that was takes at the Taylor house
before Opie hit the rose with a football. The last episode is #227, "A Trip
To Mexico". In this episode, Aunt Bee and her friends Clara and Myrtle take
a trip to Mexico and when they get home, because of some disputes on the
trip, they aren't speaking to each other. Andy gets the three of them
together to look at photos of the trip and they all realize that they had a
really nice trip.

There were also six other episodes where there was filming, or
mention of filming with movie cameras. They were episode 13, "Mayberry Goes
Hollywood", episode #150, "TV Or Not TV", Episode #167, "The Taylors In
Hollywood, episode #187, "The Foster Lady", episode #216, "Howard The
Comedian", and episode #237, "The Mayberry Chef".

There may be others, but these are the ones I came up with. Good
luck to others trying to find more.

Sincerely,
Sheriff Poindexter

Re: 25th Annual Mayberry Days photos

2014-10-04 Thread Janet Anderson
Jeff, thanks so much for posting the link to the photos from Mayberry Days
taken by Hobart Jones. I was thrilled to find myself and my husband in several
of these, especially from the "Around the Andy Griffith Museum" group. Mr.
Jones got shots of us in front of Betty Lynn's table, of my husband taking a
picture of me with Betty, and of someone else taking a shot of the two of us
with Betty. I'm surprised that I didn't notice him taking pictures of us
because I'm usually quick to notice anyone holding a nice camera, but on the
other hand, I'm sure I was so excited to see Betty and was so focused on her
that I probably wouldn't have noticed if Godzilla were in the room! I enjoyed
all the great pictures. Mr. Jones does a fine job!
