[WestNileNet] The late Joseph Adrole
This morning, I saw a death announcement on page 7 of the New Vision by the family of the late Joseph Adrole who passed away on the 28th day of October at King Faizal Hospital in Kigali. The family also announced a funeral service at Nyamitanga and burial to take place tommorrow at Biharwe. I have received several phone calls from elders like Hon. Dick Nyai and others who are against the burial of late Joseph in Mbarara when he hails from Terego in Arua. I do not know whether the deceased had a will or not and whether he wished to be buried in Mbarara. This is an appeal to any one who has any contact of any close relative of Joseph to inform the leadership of West Nile Foundation so that we take up the matter as per the pleas of Arua elders. Your urgent opinion on the matter will guide the leadership on the way forward on this sensitive issue. ___ WestNileNet mailing list WestNileNet@kym.net http://orion.kym.net/mailman/listinfo/westnilenet % WestNileNet is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any). Our own Emmy Allio who deputises the ESO (External Security Organisation) boss has for the last two months been scared for his life. At first, he asserted that an assassin had been hired to kill him. Over the weekend, some unknown assaillants almost killed her sister in his Home. Emmy now fears for his life. More ove, Emmy is one of the few sons of West Nile priviledged to occupy a High ranking position in Government more so in the security circles. Must we just be silent when our own is being whitch hunted and almost killed by his workmates. I think we need to intervene and rally behind Emmy. A round table workshop for instance highlighting the problems of the region, this event could then generate annotated ideas that could kick start bankable projects! In development there are always challenges in Health, Education, Agriculture, entrepreneurship and more (These could initially be addressed by sensitization) - Taking advantage of ICT and Community centres this is possible. Later activities can spiral into small businesses, public health initiatives and improved education in general. I think our youth are very enterprising people who are just not empowered in many ways. Do the people who live in Canada or USA or Europe know and feel the problems of the Youth Employment and drug abuse better than the people at home? or Is it that the people at home are so helpless that they can not afford to perhaps, present the Vice President this kind of issue locally in Uganda rather than Vancouver. When a Vice President is given a letter from Vancouver a copy of which must be given to the President and yet we have very capable people on the ground to write and present such memorandum, what kind of message does such memorundum reflect of us at the forum. What even worris me most is the content of such a letter. Caleb, I, Gordon, Okuti and Hon Kassiano Wadri were at the vigil last night at the deceased home in Ntinda. Some announcements were made which are similar to what appeared in todays funeral announcement. Mr. Charles Adrole(the deceased's son) had a chat with us together with Hon Wadri and informed us that they(as family) had decided to bury the deceased at his farm in Mbarara besides his late wife Lillian. Re: [WestNileNet] Emmy Allio
Caleb, I share similar anguish as you do. This guy’s situation is very alarming. The general public opinion in West Nile is now that their own is being witch haunted and those involved are ushering the wrath of God upon themselves. The bible tells us that David, after killing Goliath, with a slingshot, he joined the entourage of King Saul, Israel's first king. Saul eventually became jealous of David's popularity with the Israelites and tried to kill him several times. Because Saul was pursuing David for a sin he hadn't committed, weapons formed against him didn't prosper. We also know that David remained a king for about 40 years. So Emmy will not be protected by spears and guns but by mercy of God. There is always a cost to pay for rising to the top but we can no more afford silence over his deteriorating situation. The Lugbara normally say: even if your mum is poisonous, you don't reject her because she has produced you. Get a briefing on what exactly has gone wrong before we express our irritation. Caleb Whether witch hunted or not, dont think we are in the best position to make judgements here. We are all well aware what the current security situation is like, please do not subject this useful forum to uncalled for investigations. Ladies Gentlemen, I would humbly advise that we leave this topic of discussion as it is being handled at very high levels since the police investigations are underway.
