Thank you Francesco but in that case, all authenticated senders will be
be exluded from the filters, not only ML members as I would like to be...

 You mean, if the mailing list ML has memebers {A, B, C}, you want filters 
 not to run when one of {A, B, C} sends a message?

Rather when they receive a message sent to this ML. I'd like some
filters not to be triggered.

 If this is the case, then no, there is no option. Unless, of course, you 
 take care of exclusion in your filter (or a pre-filter, if the main 
 filter is heavy).

Is it still working for you?

Yes. I know it seems strange.

 Should be contrariwise in my opinion, the machine with problem 
 gets no MX record. Can you set the same DNS server on both XMail machines? 
 Preferably the working one as most likely is a DNS issue.

 Honestly, to me, it bothers more when mirrors are not properly maintained,
 than not having them at all.
 A mirror requires a software that does proper sync (proper =3D=3D use HTTP
 HEAD instead of downloading each time everything) once or twice a day,

So, I thought a croned wget -m http://www.xmailserver.org; would do
the job. I tested it but I get a few 404 :

When it says Le fichier du serveur n'est pas plus r=E9cent que le
fichier local it means the local file is the same as the remote one.

[xmail] SSL + Attachment

Hello,

I've got two machines running XMAIL. One has 1.24 and the other has
1.25.
I use SSL on port 465 for SMTP.
When I send a message without attachment or with small attachment (I
just tried with 3 22KO jpeg pictures), no problem.

But, if I attach files that weigh more than 80KO, the transfer
starts but stops after a few seconds and fails. I see nothing special
when I run in debug mode.

Am I the only one having this problem ? Anybody can help me solve this
? Thanks.

 Seriously, in the very latest 1.25-pre series I replaced OpenSSL DLLs wit=

 the new ones I built based on the latest OpenSSL release.
 Are you sending from XMail to XMail, or from MUA to XMail?

mtp server.

I received a spam this morning to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I phoned the french society from which I received it. They bought a 
file in which my address was. I never used this address in public.

The only place where I can find this address on the Web with Google is 
: http://www.xmailserver.org/

Please Davide, delete this address from your page and just leave a 
link to my site.

I think you should do this for all addresses so that this problem not 
to occur again. Or maybe you want to crypt the addresses so than they 
can't be found by sammer bots ?

I don't put it in clear on my Web pages nor in forums. A 
search with Google shows it is in the xmailserver.org page 
with a link to my FProt AV Scan. Wouldn't it be better to

I don't know if it works lik this but the doc says

exit [/b] [ExitCode]

I suppose one has to replace exit 0 and exit 19 :

exit /b 0
exit /b 19

Is that right ?

Then, your solution rejects spam. Maybe you could consider 
adding a second parameter to allow marking without 
rejecting. Leaving the reject decision to the end user's MUA 
filtering system ?

[xmail] 1.19-pre03 pre-data filter not triggered

I don't see anything about pre-data filter. Here is what I get :

 should change it :-)

Yes, it would follow the same logic than filters.out.tab 
filters.in.tab and you the doc says filters.pre-data.tab and 
filters.post-data.tab anyway :-)

This is what some english speaking people don't understand.
Probably because they never had to learn another language 
than theirs. Not only is it very hard for some human to 
understand the technical documentations in their own 
language but it's even harder in a foreign language (yes 
english *is* still a foreign language for many of us). Many 
thanks to those that don't forget it and make it easier to 
localize when it can be usefull !

BTW, RTFM in my language (french) is LLPDM (Lire le putain 
de manuel) :-)

That was OK but I had forgotten that Thunderbird uses only

[xmail] Read only mailbox ?

Hello,

I need a mailbox than can not send E-mail at all. Just 
receive (backup of an other mailbox).

What I did :

-In file /var/MailRoot/filters.out.tab
[EMAIL PROTECTED] * 0.0.0.0/0 
0.0.0.0/0 stop-out.tab

-In /var/MailRoot/filters/stop-out.tab
/var/MailRoot/filters/filip-supera-filters/stop-out.sh

-In /var/MailRoot/filters/filip-supera-filters/stop-out.sh
#!/bin/sh
exit 6

It works but isn't there any better way to do this ?

There is also another question I'd like to put :

Can we make a mailbox read-only from a webmail or POP3 
access ? If it was possible, it would offer an easy 
consultable archive system (ie : for one XMail mailing 
list). Such an archive mailbox's address could just be added 
to a mailing list so as to keep copies of all it's messages. 
Allowed users would be given the login and password to be 
able to read past messages using their usual E-mail client 
or a Webmail. Does that sound possible ?

[xmail] Open relay ?

Hello,

According to http://www.abuse.net/relay.html,
my libre-essai.net (running XMail 1.18) fails on the Relay 
test 6 :

  RSET
 250 OK
  MAIL FROM:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 250 OK
  RCPT TO:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 250 OK

Relay test result :
Hmmn, at first glance, host appeared to accept a message 
for relay.

What should I do ?

This is not true :-) I did read it.

 
 Filip just clear everything in the smtprelay.tab and put only this 
 line: 127.0.0.1[TAB]255.255.255.255 where [TAB] is really a tab 
 char, and configure your clients to use authentication, or you can also 
 add there the trusted network to be acceptedas is clearly written in 
 docs (maybe you'll like to read them all), XMailserver by default comes 
 as an open relay !!!

My smtprelay.tab was empty. Following your instructions, I 
added 127.0.0.1   255.255.255.255 to see if it changes 
anything but I still fail the test at point 6.

Am I the only one ?

Yes, that was it. libre-essai.net was a custom domain with 
domain redirection...

Changed it to a normal domain.

Relay test result
All tests performed, no relays accepted :-)
