Is it really possible, as I read in the New York Times review, that the
last *40* years of jazz will be compressed into one single episode of
the Ken Burns series?! This doesn't just leave out the loungy and hip
jazz of the 50s and 60s. It leaves out: post-bop, Albert Ayler, MJQ,
the Art
Also, Best Perlon releases?
Just to stick my 2 cents in - My absolute favourite is Ricardo
Villalobos (his best release too imho) - Sense Fiction/Tomorrov
Cocktail. Deep, ominous, spacey, and with just the right amount of
squelch. Definitely 313 material, try mixing this with perfecture

hi
it would be great if somebody could help me with this.
I really dig the first track of side A of the theo
parrish mix on the deephousemusic site
(http://deephousepage.com/)
but the side A on the site is actually side b of the
full mix. I think the track is actually Blaze from

Does anyone remember the pbs rock-n-roll documentary? it did the same thing
in the last episode it went from punk rock(mid '70s) to present.
A quick question,
What happens to the tracks on an ep/album when the label that
releases them goes out of business? Does the ownership automatically
go back to the producer?
Peace,
Patrick.

Back from the dead to ask a few questions. Always wanted to know but never
thought to ask about Schatrax. Who is it, is there anything else out under
different names? All releases I possess are excellent - chord oriented deep
techno (house?) Lovely
I picked up that Deep Chord CD (thanks Rob!) last week after all the
discussion on the list. To be honest I was quite disappointed - it sounds to
me like Basic Channel by numbers. In fact my girlfriend's words summed it up
nicely - 'like Maurizio but without the soul; they've missed the point'...

I haven't checked the site but it sounds like it is the second side of the
Live in Detroit tape which *does* start with the end of the track off
Blaze's Artful Noyz EP. The next track is Overyohead. If you've got the
wrong info off of me, sorry, but the Blaze track starts on side A, so I put
it in
Sorry for the OT nature (I try to bring it back below), but enough people
seem to be interested in the Burns' documentary to make me forward this from
the Saturn Sun Ra list. The gist of the argument over there is that Burns'
is using the argument that jazz was more popular then so he's only
I've got Subject Detroit Vol 2 by Dj Bone, and its rather good
but where can i get my hands on Vol 1 cos i can't seem to find
it anywhere or any reference to it
Incidently for UK 313'ers DJ Bone is at Atomic Jam,Birmingham at the start
of Feb (Am i looking forward to that or what!)

ok... just to straight things out i spoke to valents yesterday... while
reloops 3 was initially to be 4 tracks by umek it ended up being one side
umek and flipside by kanzyani.

after a lot of thought, i decided to post an opinion on the whole
clandestine thread that's been going on here over the last couple days:
i think if you respect an artist (or a collective of artists like
underground resistance) you should respect their desire to be anonymous (and

Julian Perez handles the last half hour of the 2nd
part of this mix and it's crazy. Definitely some of
the best 80s house mixing I've ever heard. Farley is
dope too, of course, but Perez' set really stands out.
If anyone listens and can ID the first track of Perez'
set around 20 minutes in to part
