Look, we need to put all this selling promos stuff into perspective
here. The techno music business is such that its a good thing that the
record is in circulation and not, god forbid, thrown away or hidden in
someone's collection, not getting any needle time. At least its out
there for
what bugs you so much? Do you constantly get harassed by Detroit/or
techno people for selling the promos they gave you? Do you have to
fight your way thru hit squads of Detroit/or techno people who are
checking all record bags for illegally sold promos? If so many things
bug you about

I just told you what bugs me: people making a big thing out of a mole
hill, it doesn't matter what the deal is.
Plus I think I have a right to say what I feel, just like the next
person. I love techno
and I am a collector too and I never sell
Very true, but you're refering to the big time music business there.
They allocate more copies for promos than the techno labels so they may
feel tthe need to keep account of them sent out as promos. On the other
hand, since we see em' in the store bins, it show us how much they
really care at

Try as I might, I can't see the problem here. The guy's paid for the record,
so it's his to do with as he likes: sell, give away, review, use as frisbee,
whatever. He could snap it over his knee if he felt like it, that's his
right. Loads of people buy and sell records for a living, that's part of

well thats funny, that is what seems to happend the world over,,
dj's that are not so hell bent on self promotion and are more interested in
the values of music and their effect on human culture
are often left in the dark,, it's like they become this shadow but are still

No flame here cause that's what I'm squawkin'.
Actually, I can't even see the problem with the store selling it because
if it sold, the retailers may decide to stock it, especially before its
due out.
Perhaps retailers do that to see if there's a demand.
Running a label myself, all I hope
I don't see you blocking THIS from the discussion. Double standards. I like

I'm pretty sure you can purchase the UR poster and also a Red Planet poster
from Submerge. Try getting in contact with them, [EMAIL PROTECTED] , and
see how you go.

Anyone have any contacts for record distributors of techno music? How do I go
about this? Is it best to press up the vinyl and send it out? Or should I
