Arpanet said that? Hihihihi, I really hope you don't print that! Did you get
the press release that goes with Arpanet? Try to figure out what it is all
about and you'll quickly end up with another project of mister Arpanet...
Did you also get a ridiculous list of 'what to ask and what not'?
Hello,
Last week we heard The KLF's 1990 ambient masterpiece Chill Out. This 12
year old album was one of the harbingers of the ambient and ambient house
movements of the early 1990's. It is said that this album was actually half

Couldn't agree more. I was quite impressed with since I left you but, to
be frank, the other tracks I've heard have sounded like the worst of ninja
tunes about four or five years ago (when they churned out a hundred
'amusingly irreverent' sample-fests a week), and the Avalanches are no

Could anyone explain exactly what all the fuss is about?
some people like it, and some don't. some people think it's original, some
think it's lame and has been done to death before. no fuss. a difference
of opinion, that's all. :)
anyways, back to Detroit... anyone know

no, Juan didn't coin the term techno per se ... I'm sure it was in
the English language long before Alvin Toffler even used it.

The way I heard it, the album was initially going to be called The House
Sound Of Detroit, as back then the music was seen by the UK press as being
pretty much house music from Detroit, but the label wanted to put a certain
slant on it, asking the Belleville Three if there were any other terms

One thing that confuses me, though, is that Derrick May apparently hated
that term, seeing it as something more associated with hip-hop than with the
music they were making. What was that all about? In what context was techno
used to describe hip-hop back then?
This is just a guess, but back
