When Autobahn came out I remember the title track getting
played on the radio all the time. Well, so often that I got sick
of hearing it - shock horror! : )
I think you may find that lots of people from my generation in
Germany will know Kraftwerk. ; )

It seems like there were fewer international tourists this year. This will
be the first year there's no coverage in Australian media too which is a
shame - and it's not for want of trying. I think they really need to reach
out to the international media and cover that angle more - that should be a
perhaps it was subtle because it didn't stand out to me..! I've heard
this 2x ... will have to go and listen again!
there was this one track which took a big page out of some beatles track
.. that one stood out

I like Athlete better anyways if I'm gonna have a UK rock moment (which I
don't often). These current bands are very like the new Echo the Bunnymen
which explains their appeal to me. ;)
One of the Coldplay dudes wrote to Ralf in Deutsch to ask for track
clearance I read in Q mag I think.

she enjoyed it a lot but said it was the least impressive of the 3 times she's
seen them (coachella and 1998 tour previously). and no place to dance...and was
After all of the talk about bootlegs and illegality. I'd like to make
a point. Not with words, not with flames, but how all good techno kids
do it.
Here's what I gotta say to that argument...get it while it's up.

Overall a great well rounded show. Some very inspired moments: 'Man Machine' at
the opening of the show, the 'Tour de France' montage and 'Autobahn' were all
stellar.
Show was in the middle of the Hollywood Hills, nature, trees etc, beautiful,
clear night.
A very mellow and respectful crowd,

Damm thorin. Those
LOL - certainly are
again - it was the robots that brought out the most - which I still think
is hilarious
I think Kraftwerk should work on developing those things so that they are
fully functioning robots with moving mouths and all
they can then do the entire show just like they did years
Uhh, looking through their web site I can't tell if they had something
to do with it or not. I'm not real clear on how they worked out the
video/visualizations this year. All I know is that it was all last
second. I did what I did on a volunteer basis. From what I can tell from
their web site,
Oh, maybe I didn't explain those very well. I didn't actually VJ the
jumbotron at any point. That was probably Gabe running it in that
picture. I made the animation you saw on the screen though. I did
however get the distinguished privledge of helping with the visuals at
Release and I got the
deep house room... at For Those Who Know 4.
Uu...WHAT WHAT! I need reports! I almost forgot about FTWK. No ones
mentioned this one yet. Did anyone go? Who played? Was it really deep or just
melodic and boring? What was the crowd like? Anybody mixing it up (bruk beat,
oldies, etc) well?

Cool... thanks Thorin...
I'd received an email from Delirium a week before the fest. offering me a paid
position this year, but with only one weeks notice it wasn't worth me trying to
book a flight from the UK... I've been curious to see if they actually ended up
running it... seeing that you
