I think the trick is to hear it loud - when i bought it it was one of
the "just walked into the shop and it's on really loud" moments - the
bassline comes alive, it's got an acidic qua
o for me either. I'm sure Kevin will get over it.

Speaking of fulton, anyone get 'mom, I think the video broke' (whatever it's
called)?
It's crazy. (On tirk records.)
Starts with a drum kit and ends with a kick, with nasty moog throughout. Top
tune.

Seriously tho, Kathy Brown's vocal is great, but is it necessary? In one ear

Would be interested to see what DM thinks...

Hi there,
Been off the list for a while, but nice to be back. :-P
Seems like there's some new cool people around doing classic sounding stuff,
some have been so for a while, but I've just been slow to clock onto them,
folk like:
Matthew Jonson
Omar S
Luciano
...any more???
And Alex, what is t
sh*t if we didn't develop and move along we'd all be discussing the
latest
tunes sung on Sesame Street.
Hey, cut down the Sesame bashing!! ^_^

It talks about music's function in society, and it's meaning for people,
why it has the effect it has, etc. etc. It's a fascinating book and I

That's cool, I guess what I meant was I love HEARING acid house music,

Great track - has anyone heard the Jaydee version (from 'Welcome To

Has anyone mentioned 'Sightings in the Abyss'? Something about that
track is sooo spooky, I just wish it was longer.
'Wavejumper' on the flip is probably equal for me, it seems totally
live. I guess both tracks were recorded live and jammed out, they
sounds raw as f*ck, but very funky.

Hello,
So, can you tell me exactly who did which tracks?

you've probably got bigger worries than poor production.
An over-compressed track is like a black and white photograph that's
90% flat white and 10% flat black black, with no grey in between.
But then I prefer digital to vinyl . . .

Far be it for me to enter into a 'debate', but I didn't assert that
Pro-Tools performs composition. However it can have a decisive effect on
'sound'. This is due to numerous factors, such as the A/D converters used
(Digidesign, MOTU, Apogee etc.) and the software itself, i.e. the TDM

I'm sorry, but I'm not blaming anything on Pro-Tools, it's the people
using it with no imagination, a different point. When a producer stops
using his/her brain and lets Pro-Tools take over their sound, then we get
the situation we have now, with lots of boring tracks - but this is so
