I am 22, but perhaps the minority, as I am constantly on a
search for producers still using the now 'old' detroit techno
sound. I live in the Detroit area and have trouble finding new
detroit techno or electro records. However, I will say

I would like to find out the artist and name of a track. It is
possibly entitled 'changes'...? It has female vocals that
repeat: 'changes, how things change' I remember Kenny Larkin
dropping it at Motor around '99. It is a housey soulful track
that almost sounds like it has a sample of birds

i agree whole-heartedly! Rolando's remix is especially impressive. The UR
remix is somewhat repetitive but it still has some classic detroit elements
to it that make it very alluring and even mysterious.
these records make an amazing addition to any detroit tech-lovers collection

My 50 year old mother has seemed to develop a great liking for minimal
detroit techno. She thinks it is very tribal and enjoys the emphasis on
each specific sound. She especially likes Claude Young, but doesnt really
care too much for Richie Hawtin. She still needs a little bit of schooling
to answer what is techno we will use the few words i spoke with
carl craig at a small event recently-
me-so have they dropped any techno yet?
craig-well it is ALL techno
