As has already been said, nothing is original. Techno developed from major
influences from other cities and artists (Black and White) So did Drum and
Bass. I agree...The history is important, par
just a small comparison to the British Northern Soul scene, which I think
the current techno scene is morphing into: the cult of rare tracks, vinyl
obsession, not to mention sweaty all-nighters with copious drug consumption.
In fact even that pounding four-four which characterised the Wigan soun
not entirely sure who it's by, but there's also two "sound-hack" records you
should check by the same artist. no info on the label, but both that same
cut-up housey stuff, cool as f**k, especially the first.

Respect to Hawtin for giving us what we have today. While many have
contirubted to the growth of electronic music this man deserves a lot >more
credit than you are giving him.
I'm a big fan of Richie Hawtin's past work, but the recent tour and it's
corresponding Mix C.D. was frankly dull.
