While we're on the topic of mixers I've got to plug my latest baby, my
Rane Empath mixer. Grandmaster Flash served as the technical
consultant, and his expertise definitely serves the mixer well. While
it may seem like your standard 3 channel mixer, I feel it goes way
beyond the competition.

I've always used smooth cloth placemats - they are nearly a perfect size
cover for a turntable or mixer, two CD decks (side by side), etc. Get
them thick enough and they'll

I find an old bed sheet folded over several times works pretty well for me.
my roommates wasn't a scratch mixer.
but whatever. i think you just have to ask before you buy. or better yet,
test it.

here is my breakdown.
personally id dont see the point in buying an expencive mixer which will wear
out fast and i see lots of 500 and 600's in the shop where i used to work.
personally i think they are flimsy, cheap pots and faders.
i also think the cheaper vastex and neumarks are not worth a cra

As far as I can tell it looks like an *updated* PCV175 aka PMC170.the
basic mixer has been the same for many years. They keep reskining/tweaking
it slightly and redesignating it. The PCV275 is also based off the same
