Dan's Techno Rebels is considered a bible here in Australia. Every DJ/ producer of note in Melbourne has a copy. It was such a key book. I recall telling Visage bassist Barry Adamson he and Frequency 7 were mentioned in the book and he was stunned - he's a Mancunian guy now based in Sydney

My condolences to his family. I read Dan's book about 5 years after getting involved with techno. I knew Detroit techno had a rich history but didn't truly appreciate it until reading Techno Rebels. The man may be gone but his legacy continues. RIP

I've had a look at a lot of the pics, and Dan had a good eye and nice sense of composition... I used to be quite active in BW photography before techno/radio snarfed up a lot of my time. He will be missed. I plan to do (KFJC programming willing) a 4-hour block of Detroit in his honor. Minto
