The new Matthew Dear (jabberjaw) is two tracks after that Shake song..I like
it. All I've heard of Mr. Dear's is the two False singles on Plus 8 and it's
in the same vein which is cool. nothing really new with this jabberjaw
release but it's still good and for those into minimal stuff that doesn't
heard a track by anthony shakir on the radio last night, called 'ghetto
futures'. apparently comming out on a compilation cd, compiled by autechre:
'autechre curated atp 3.0'
you can here the track here:

Looking forward to seeing your firm, blowing their bubbles; did we speak

Happy New Year 313.
I noticed that Mr Shakir popped up on the list the other day. I meant to
save his e-mail address, but didn't.
Could anyone possibly forward it to me if they don't mind.?

No, I don't know...being that Porter Street is a bar, there's a good
chance, but I'm not sure.
Here's the link to the Metro Times site with Porter Street's address

Thanks for the link, Keleigh.
I'm planning on going to Porter Street for the first time tonight to see Shake.
I'd urge anybody else in the area to go check this out, too.
I feel bad that I haven't been able to make it out to Porter Street yet, but
this is definitely one that's got me excited.

Without a doubt. Claude Young (my *personal* favorite detroit DJ) always
namechecks Shake as a crucial influence/teacher of his cut-n-scratch "freeform"
DJ style.

Shake isn't a bad DJ either! I heard that he 'taught' a few of the Detroit

Shake's "Assimilated" 12" from 2000 has never failed to blow my mind.
Not once. I've tried to listen to it casually but it's impossible. It
always grabs me and I have to stare at the speakers or something.
Does frictional have a webpage, by the way?

It's great - I really like all four tracks, but especially 'For The
