That would be brilliant - almost enough to make me want to buy a ticket

Detroit. :) It's like Scott

Luncheonette is actually quite remarkable in some ways. And of course
they have been heavily sampled by De La and many others... But ... DEMF?
WTF??
Rather them than say Crookers :)
Pardon me, but wtf does it say that please?

First of all, I think the whole Hall Oates @ DEMF thing isn't 100%
serious, and I doubt Paxahau even has HO on their radar. And it's
Carl Craig who will (mostly) be programming this year ...
I think hating on Paxahau is a waste of time. In the world of event
promotion they're a large scale

Yeah, I know, but I seriously think it's coming from a strong local
desire
to expand musical genres that are presented at the festival - like
George
Clinton, De La Soul, or Saul Williams in earlier years. And maybe
this is
contrary
The reason I mentioned Chromeo is that someone on fb posted a youtube
clip featuring Darryl Hall talking and playing with them. I am not
really trashing Paxahau, since I usually make the trip to Detroit for
the festival anyhow, whether I'm playing or not. I am at a point with
this that all

I know, hilarious! Hall Oats is almost like Prince and B-52s in
Detroit. :) It's like Scott Grooves dropping some Christopher Cross,
or Rick Wilhite playing Queen or Devo. It just makes perfect sense!

And maybe this is contrary to popular opinion/assumption, but Detroit

Hm, very interesting. I am a huge HO fan mainly because BIG BAM BOOM
was one of the first electronic music albums that I loved. It's odd
to think of that album as electronic music but it really was. Arthur
Baker produced! So much synclavier! and linn drum all over that album,
i think simmons
on a technofied Hall Oates section
of my set.
