Funny you mention the TV thing, last time I was scouring Gramaphone in
Chicago for used italo, Andy Moy
i'm late but this is still in my inbox so here's some favorite italo (not
necessarilly a top 5, but up there) off the top of my head:

Art Bell, the late night talk show host who does a lot of stuff on EVP's,
ghosts, conspiracies c., sometimes uses Giorgio Moroder's THE CHASE in
the background behind different segments. Not quite as rare, i know, but
kind of funny for 2002.
