I'll disagree with Mike Brown -- but just a little. There are
some techno records that are supremely funky, but just a few.
That amazing UR remix of Expo 2000 is one great example. A lot
of Octave One certainly is, especially from their two
magnificent double-packs, Images from Above and Living

isn't funky the way The Meters, James Brown, Prince or Red Hot Chili Peppers
are funky. Most techno doesn't even have a funk-derived bass

when I think of songs like Chocolate City or the concepts behind Motor

I have heard people say this same thing about trance. lol (just replace
techno w/ trance as I did below)
what really gets me is when people call trance, techno. but I guess they
know no better.
it's also very hard to force feed anyone anything, some people just reject
because you forced it on
