Agreed entirely. However, I would appreciate the efforts put in by the
people who are trying to organise jobs/opportunities for the VI.
My take is that the quality of education opportunities available for the VI
are the pits. Focus has to be on getting more quality VI job aspirants
into the job
We must also take steps to make the employers strictly follow the
accessibility guidelines while designing their in-house software packages
because this will have a direct baring on the performance of a VI candidate
and if this not done so, the candidate's may not have a strong career in the
firm.

I will not argue the fact that accessibility guidelines help but if the
blind person kknows his technology, he can get around many barriers. Blind
people have to go beyond the basics of using their screen readers.

To add to what Pranav has said, my experience is that these issues can be
sorted out once we are on-boarded. Having said that, our first focus needs to
be improving quality of education and create more talented aspirants.
