Kelli,
just three steps:
1. Create raw volume (mklv -y volume name -t tsmdbvol volume group
size in partitions) or file volume (dsmfmt -g -db file name size in
GB). Commands have to be performed in AIX shell.
2. Define newly created volume to TSM - 'define dbvolume /dev/rvolume

What if I want a two active tsm servers running on one machine and in two

Hi
Easiest way to accomplish what you're looking for is(I guess) using
clustering in Mutual Take over mode.
This way, you have two cluster nodes, each running a TSM server instance,
and each being a Standby-node for eachother. In case of a disaster, both
instances would be running on the
Hello,
I have done these 3 steps successfully but now I am trying to DEFINE

The documentation says DEFINE DBCOPY volume_name copy_vol_name

I installed TSM 5.1 Server on a new machine a few weeks ago.
I have been consistently seeing defunct processes being generated
on this box and TSM is the only process running.
Anyone else see this behavior? I am running 4.3.3 ML 9 and

Hi,
as far as I know does Outlook himself closes the pst - files after a while
being idle.
I have no trouble backing up pst files in our environment.

(For remote pst-files we use successfully subfile backup.)

Hi guys,
I've just found a feature to send one command over many TSM servers at the
same time.
I don't find any reference in TSM's books, is it documented ? is it
supported ?

Hi, Justin.
Basically, you just delete that volume. Next time you do a BACKUP STGPOOL
PRIMARYPOOL COPYPOOL, it'll back up those files into the copy pool again.

I just did this on my test box - 4.1.4.4 to 5.1.1 on AIX 4.3.3, then
turned around and upgrade AIX to 5.1.0.2. No problems so far, but have

Hello,
I have done these 3 steps successfully but
I believe after a tape has been labeled there is no way for you to tell
TSM to keep the tape in the drive.
