Hi,
Thankyou to Robin and others for your useful comments.
Is it possible to retain and continue using some of my existing tape
storage pools
associated with device class LTO ; and create new ones associated with
device
class LTO3 . ?
Will the storage pools with LTO device class then use a
Hi *SM'ers,
is there a supported way to delete obsolete backups from a filespace, where
erroneously versions are created. We did our yearly backup in the same
Management Class, where the daily backups goes to. We changed out
definitions in the way, it is described in the Technote swg21194253, but
Hi All,

Hello All
We are running TSM Server 5.2.7 on AIX 5.3.03. We assigned a copy pool
to our GEN_TAPE sequential access pool. We are trying to remove this
copy pool because it is causing us to receive the following messages:
ANR4734W Copy storage pool COPYPOOL was removed from the copy storage

The commands that I cited provide the information you seek: if
uninterested in other information reported, you can

Richard, when I do a q node server f=d for one of the servers
generating the ANR4744W I see that MAXNUMMP value is:
Maximum Mount Points Allowed: 2
Auto Filespace Rename : No
Validate Protocol: No
TCP/IP Name: WDBSSDBEVE02
It is already set to 2. Does it

Gerd,
There is no delete function for DP/Exchange backups.
A DP/Exhannge backup is made up of multiple TSM Server objects,
so I would not advise just deleting objects without making sure
you are deleting the entire logical backup... and even then
be very careful you are deleting the correct ones.
Bill,
Can you post the output of q devc f=d? That may help us...
You can keep your existing storage pools for your LTO2 tapes, and define
new ones for your LTO3 tapes. That's what I did. In fact, I still
purchase and use LTO2 cartridges, because of our DR contract which does not
specify LTO3
Thank you Richard, using the command line worked...silly GUI...

I was playing with the checkout command trying to get a load of scratch
tapes out of the 3494 with REMOVE=NO. So far I haven't had any luck.
When using vollist=file:filename the server response says list file
d:\tapevol could not be opened. I have tried specifying the complete
path to the file
The tape-list file has to be reachable by the server, not your desktop
client. You are telling the server to look on its D: drive.

As with other commands I run from my desktop this is not the case. I can
run a command and export it to a file, specifying the complete path if I
want, and that's
Can you give me an example of a command that does this?
If you are talking about the addition to the end of a dsmadmc batch
command (on the os command line), that's a feature of the OS.
The -outfile option on dsmadmc in batchmode is a special feature of
the admin client only when acting in batch
Hi,
This is the first time I am creating include/exclude... so I was trying
to create my own configurations... But I am not able to create something
like that:
Exclude all filesystems in a unix machine
Exclude all directories in a windows machine
And so on, could someone give me some
Has anyone seen anything as it relates to TSM and all the patching that
is going on with operating systems and java? I haven't seen anything
specific but just want to make sure there isn't something I've missed I
need to do. I have to patch pretty much everything else I'm responsible
for and
Go to the URL in my sig, then in the Search Support (this product) box,
do a search on DST2007, and you'll find some articles with info on TSM and
the 2007 changes to Daylight Saving Time.

Examples of each:
Admin CLI client macros read the macro file from the client system.
Defining TSM server scripts from a file with the script contents reads
the file from the TSM server system.
It makes more
When I use a in an interactive session, it dumps the output on the
server file system, not the client.
When I do the same thing from my client it will by default go to the
baclient directory on my client, unless I specify a different spot, i.e
d:\something\something. It never goes to the server.
