We have done bench tests without anything attached to the ODUs on Trango and Dragonwave. Since the power output is so low, I don't believe there is any issue with this. The dishes are the same; the feedhorns are frequency-specific. Whether you can swap feedhorns is up to the manufacturer. Rad
