Does the Emagic 2|6 have alsa/linux support? I didn't know that alsa
supported usb (outside of the said Quattro).

I figured it out; there's a race condition using the sequencer with the
preemptible kernel feature turned on with 2.5.20 and multiple processors.
Turning off kernel preemption allows the sequencer to operate fine on a
SMP machine. FYI.

I did successfully install ALSA drivers on my NEC Versa 4080H
portable (pentium on ISA bus, ES688 sound card, no pnp), but there is no
sound at all.
- With OSS sb module the card works, ls > /dev/dsp makes noise;
- With Alsa I can not use es1688 module, it does not load

I posted a message last week about my problems with Envy24control which
has still not been replied to. I still have not resolved the issue. To
recap:
I installed the alsa-0.9rc1 packages on my Red Hat 7.3 box (with M-Audio
Delta 1010 card). The driver and libs compiled without issue.

boot.

I decided to understand ALSA's sequencer today, but had a bit of a
problem. It appears that using aplay or doing a 'cat /dev/sequencer'
causes my system to freeze completely. This is with an ad1816 (Terratec
base-1) card. Anyone else experience similar problems before I leap into

I'm trying to edit tone controls using alsa 09 and I see both treble and bass
sliders in alsamixer and alsamixergui, but they seem to have no effect, am I
