I've compiled succesfully my 2.4.20 kernel with k7 processor type features
enables, since I'm working on a AthlonXP 2200. My soundcard is a Terratec
EWX 24/96, based on ice1712 chipset, therefore that's the only kind of soundcard
I've enabled the compilation of alsa-drivers for.
Everything compiles

Hi,
Thanks for answering ! I installed
xmms and now it's working! But there's
one more problem: the sound quality is
not so good there some '' during
the playing.
Do you know why?

thanks for the suggestions. The following is the result.

I have a VIA 8233 AC '97 chipset. It works fine with the standard
packaged kernel driver. I installed the
alsa-driver,alsa-libs,alsa-util,alsa-tools,etc. The kernel driver loads
fine and I am starting the /etc/init.d/alsasound and /etc/init.d/alsactl
scripts. These load with no errors either. I co

Everything seems to be OK, EXCEPT 'aplay' no longer plays AU files.

I think the RPM for Mandrake is called "kernel-2.4.x-src" or
something like
that. It should be about 20-30MB, so it won't be difficult to find.
Hope it
helps. Another
Hi,
I have a problem with ES1371 and gameports.
I have two soundcards, one is the VIA 82Cxx on board, and the other is
ES1371 (SoundBlaster PCI 128).
The problem is that I need both gameports, but the onbard card have the
I/O port fixed to 0x200. With OSS driver I can pass the parameter
joystick=0x
Thanks for your response. However, I don't have the snd_ prefixes in my
modules.conf.
Here's my modules.conf file:

Yes, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. The error message would be
different then.
I have the same problem. The code seems to be broken. The card doesn't
initialize, even with corre

Hi,
Am I sending to the right group? Maybe this should be
going to alsa-dev
Clemens answered my previous mail and asked for "lsusb
-v" output. I sent this in (it's quoted again below)
Could any ALSA guru address the point that Clemens
raised - ie is the Quickcam Web mic properly

Have you compiled the alsa-drivers?
