Today I may have good news.
I found an interesting article, written by an owner of Terratec DMX USB
6Fire who was able to set it up completely, including digital audio.
Interesting that says ...

Tragic news.
Better re-reading the description of the card in ALSA Matrix I realized
that is not declared to be compatible with digital inputs and outputs.
I do not know why I was convinced to the contrary.
But even worse news, there is no sound card in ALSA Matrix which is
declared compatible wit
I'm back.
After your help in december, and after seeing the sound card appear in
the ALSA mixer, I have not had time to continue operating tests.
The card, even if it is visible, it is virtually unusable.
I would try to use some of the features of the card:

I thank you, Daniel, for the information.
I, however, are not very experienced, the procedure to be followed is
that on the ALSA wiki?
"Quick installation" --> "Now unzip and install the alsa-firmware
package:"
I'm a little confused, I have to follow the whole "Quick installation"
procedure, or o

Hello to all ALSA friends.
I just bought the USB audio sound card Terratec DMX 6Fire.
I tried to install it on my OpenSUSE 13.1 without success (kernel
version 3.11.6-4-desktop).
In the YAST control panel if i try to add it an error is generated.

Hello,
I have the following problem: If I patch the digital mixer to HW/Out 1 and 2 I
get a crackling noise. After playing arround a bit I realized, that turning
the faders for all inputs and IPGA up and then down again stops this noise.
The affected channels seems to be Phono/Mic in. After a r
Hello,
I've got a DMX 6fire. Output is working fine, but there are some problems
unsolved:
1. I always got a signal on H/W In 8. The level is very high. If I unmute
this channel I hear a very loud frizzling noise. Anyone knows by what this
is caused?
2. Full Duplex seems not to work. If I try to e

Now, with the the latest rc8 drivers, libs etc., S/PDIF out works for
me. I can record the card's output into my minidic recorder (Redhat 8.0
with kernel 2.4.20-24.8).

Thing is, I have the above mentioned Sound card and like to run Linux, today I
got fed up with not being able to use the SPDIF Out, and looked around the

Hello,

If I start with Linux and try to choose the rear input as sound source

For example:
I have a TV card connected to the rear input of the Terratec DMX 6fire ,
but when I start xawtv or xawdecode - no sound (all chan

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can update me on the status of the driver for this card.
I bought one believing the ICE1712 chipset was supported but I believe that
work specific to this card needed to be done.
If the currently available drivers can be made to work with the card, would
