Hi Gene,
Here's what I did.
I went to the sourceforge site to the following link:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/amanda/amanda-2/changer-src/
I then downloaded each file and replaced the changer-src directory on my
machine with what I downloaded. I ran ./configure from the

Gene,

I'm currently trying to get Amanda working with a TL891 Compaq Tape Library.
The library has 26 tape slots and 2 DLT drives. There is a special device
file (/etc/mc10c) that other programs (such as the Compaq provided robot
program) use to access the tape library. Each DLT drive has a device
Does anyone know why the chg-scsi would be missing from the libexec
directory? I just happen to notice that it didn't seem to get built and
installed properly. Are there additional steps I need to take to activate
this part of AMANDA?
Thanks,
Rob

Sigh. My guess would be a problem with a GNU tool we use called automake.
I'll see
. Is there something special I should set when building
the executable?

I've gotten a few answers to my problem below (thanks to those who
responded), but now I have a little more information so I thought I would
show my latest log
this is the problem? How would I get Amanda
to use vdump instead of dump?
Thanks for your help,
Rob

I'm currently trying to get Amanda running on my Compaq Tru 64 UNIX system
and seem to be having a problem with user permissions. I understand that a
typical AMANDA configuration uses a user other than root, however I haven't
found much information (maybe I'm not looking in the right place)
