Ouch!
I think "idiot" would have been better.
If memory serves it was the first beam power pentode.
Wasn't the 6L6 the first commercial Octal based tube made?

Zing one, zing all.
If memory serves the diodes need to be configured push-pull for
amplifier use and push-push if employed as an oscillator. . Its
important to use a very noisy buffer in front the oscillator to cancel
the hash inherent to the diodes. The second diode acts similar to a

Thats poppycock. Everyone knows if you reduce the output filtering, and
use an all band, coax fed, off-center Windom it will be possible to
transmit multi-band. If you have a 5 bands off the radiator that would,
effectively, give you 150% efficiency. 5 bands x 30% = 150%. Think of

Reverse biasing the galena crystal was a stroke of genius. 100% negative
side modulation with no need for clipping on the pos. side. Cleanest
class C sine wave ever. Brilliant.

Not sure if they still carry it, but Radio Shack sells/sold something

years. Might be worth a look.

You would have to check with the builder.
In its original design the recommended balun consisted of about 6, 6" turns
of coax where the coax met the ladder line.

Morning all,
Could anyone on the list tell me the performance differences between the
B&W 5100 and 5100B?
On the schematics the changes in the audio/modulator section jump out. Was
one better than the other? Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, George KB2Z
I saw plans for a magic eye tuning indicator on Phils old radio site. It
was listed as being for a Halli. S-19R or S-20R but is adaptable to other
