That's a big reason why I do almost exclusively CW. AM will wait
until I get my Dad's (W5JHJ SK) Globe Champ 350 going here at my
shack. Thankfully, CW seems to be beyond the extremely limited mental
abilities of the tertiary syphilitic cretins that hang out on the 75
m hate SSB frequencies.

We are not doing tests today, only quizzes to prepare for tests.
According to what I have monitored on 75m, the way you are supposed to do
tests over the air is to (1) connect the crappiest sounding microphone you
can find, (2) put your transmitter in SSB
Occasionally between the words audio you whistle then repeat ad
infinitum. Heard a guy on 3.897 this morning doing just that. Must
have been on the air for 5 mins. He never said anything after he
finished.

Go to that auction place and buy a Heathkit VTVM. There are usually
a lot
of them listed. All are 11 megohm input impedance. Then buy an RF
probe.
The later VTVM's have a phone jack input and so

The Harbor freight meter can be had on sale for $19.95. I have one and
it is ok. The other functions, capacitor, frequency etc. are almost
useless though. The sensitivity and range for those functions are poor.
But for a general dvm it is not bad. They do have a cheap one that they
sell
Would appreciate a recommendation as to make and model of a VTVM that will come
with an rf probe that is suitable for using when working on boatanchor gear. I
