It's the December E season.
At this writing on Friday afternoon, 15 is open into Michigan with pretty
stable 59 ssb signals.
I also had a short 10 meter ssb qso with a mobile in New Jersey.
So, crank up the Angel Music on these bands while you're home for the
holidays.

The /2 station really did sound good... far better than some of the
so-called enhanced ssb stations I've heard.
I've not paid much attention to that experiment, so I don't know how much
power or antenna the participants are allowed.
I figure if we ever do see an allocation near 500 khz,
for doing so. Same goes for various converted
CB rigs on 10 meters.

Based on what I'm hearing on 10 meters, 15 should be open between
Mississippi and parts of W2/W3 land.
I am monitoring 21.420 until 6 PM central time if anyone wants to try an AM
contact.

Very strong signals from 1, 2, nd 3 land into Mississippi on 10 and 6
meters.
I even heard W1VZR on 50.400 AM, but my noise level and the qsb made copy
difficult.
I'm going back and forth between 29.0 and 21.420 if anyone wants to try an
AM qso on 10 or 15 meters.

I need to test a BW TR switch to be sure it does indeed switch.
In the absence of rf probes, scopes, etc, will placing a watt meter and
dummy load on the receive side of the switch be a suitable test?

The Southeastern AM Net just finished on 3.885.
Here in Mississippi, stations in New England were louder than the net
control who was in Alabama.

I've had several complete and quite enjoyable 20 meter AM contacts running
only my TS570, which is my only functioning AM rig at present.
Granted, most of the other stations were running full power, or at least a
Viking II power level.

But, I was told that the radio viewed in one of those shows was an Apache,
and an RME4350.
There is also an old Doris Day movie in which she is shown talking on an S
line. I don't remember the name of it.

I've even heard a few stations on 3705 and 3725.
I just now heard K5AYD on 3880. That's the first time I've heard Mr.
Lum in quite some time.
