[amsat-bb] XW-1 0815 UTC over Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

2009-12-26 Thread 9w...@9w2qc.net
Dear All, For the first time this morning (26th December 2009 at 0815 UTC, 45 Deg Elevation), the linear transponder of XW-1 / HO-68 was turned on over Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The transponder was sounding very well, with a couple of high speed CW stations and JAs heard on SSB just after AOS. Unf

[amsat-bb] Help with WISAT32

2009-12-26 Thread 9w...@9w2qc.net
Dear All, After being very happy with SATPC32's results both for satellite tracking in my home station and during ARISS sessions, I have started exploring WISAT32 that is included in the SATPC32 package. Basically, what I am looking for is to have WISAT32 replace WISP that I have been using as my

Congratulations Sion, Unfortunately I was not at the station to take advantage of HO-68 switched over Malaysia. Beacon can of course be heard from AOS to LOS with KCT keeping the doppler adjusted properly. 73 Sangat, 9M2SS 2009/12/26 9w...@9w2qc.net <9w...@9w2qc.net>: > Dear All, > > For the f

Hello Sion Chow, you can use Wisat32 parallel with Wisp32 (the "Wi" stands for Wisp, because the program was thought to be used with Wisp). The Wisp rotor and radio driver RR.dll doesn't work on NT based system (XP, Vista). So, you can use Wisp32 for data traffic and Wisat32 for rotor and CAT c

A good question. Some people seem to get in effortlessly, others seldom if at all. I fall into the seldom category, though I had better luck today. Someone suggested that perhaps my dilithium crystals needed realignment, so I pulled out my calibrated deviation meter, and verified the PL is set as

I noted a number of times the past few days either AO-7 & XW-1 or VO-52 & XW-1 were visible to each other over NA. 5 KHz of VO-52s downlink and all of AO-7's 2m downlink fall into XW_1's uplink. With signals as strong as they are, it should be possible to make cross satellite contacts, ie. U/

I think that the whole problem is the sheer number of stations trying to get into the bird at the same time... destructive interference occurs between all the differently-phased PL tones, and NO ONE gets in most of the time. I would love to see how much easier it would be to use with the tone t
