RG 389 is an air dielectric cable. Make sure there is no moisture in it efore terminating it.Best way is to purge with dry nitrogen than terminate. Make sure terminations are air tight.This is a good cable but any moisture in it is not good news.I used LMR-600 a little more loss but abit easier

Hi Luc, I am assuming you meant 7/8" Heliax. 45' of Heliax and a short LMR400 jumper will have around 0.6 dB of loss on 70cm so that just adds 0.6 dB to the noise figure of your preamp (i.e. ~1.0 dB to ~1.6 db.) With even a modest gain antenna, you probably will not be able to notice any differen

Hi Enzo, Yes the 1.2 Ghz uplink does work on the BBS. How many watts are at your antenna and what is the antenna gain? I find that 30W at my 20+dB gain antenna is not enough unless the view is clear of any trees. I find the 1.2GHz uplink to be difficult on the BBS so keep trying! Current logs
