The interesting thing is that this issue was brought up and caused by three
EU hams. Why and how this type of thing always seems to degenerate into a
commentary on the general ham condition and a personal war wages between
people who were not even in the original event is an interesting statement

After doing a little research I think Eric is more than qualified to know
what Amateur Radio is all about and how the Ham Spirit has changed. After
working HF for over 20 years he is well aware. He has a very impressive
looking Satellite set up and I am sure he could hear his own signal quite
well.
I say we all mellow out and listen to some songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd,
especially one song in particular. "Don't Ask Me No Questions." It'll
probably solve some of the ongoing issues and show a perspective as to why
this is getting out of hand.

I will attempt to put W1AW on AO27 for the Friday, June 1, 1700Z and 1843Z

would like a QSL, let me know via e-mail and I'll take care of it.

Well, I ask, WHEN did the true spirit of ham radio CHANGE to the point where we
can demean fellow hams
in public message groups - WITHOUT simply contacting an "offending" ham
privately to see if we could help

Maybe the other ham the original guy was complaining about was working SO50
with a dual band/single receive HT himself and was not able to monitor the
downlink while he was calling.

Ted has an "anti-Clint" war waging in his own mind. Not sure what started it.
But he is surely
one who sees the demonstrable successful promotion of this aspect of the
amateur radio hobby
by me as something he cannot deal with.
