In fact the bug happens quite often on Mac...but I found the source
of the problem.
On mac, aMSN is a package, a double-click app. You can put it
anywhere you want, in a folder, in /applications, etc. You can do
that with every applications on OS X, you are not forced to /usr/

Hum,
I wasn't clean about the 0.95-1 thing :p

In fact this -1 thing is the release number so if we create a new package from
the same version (but with some modifs like a new skin or things like
that...) we increment it. In fact, this number is distribution specifi
Okay you and Jerome decide, but I'll explain package version and release

0.95 is the version number of the release
0.95-1 is the first package of that release
0.95-2 is a second package with the same release, but with a fix for the way
the package is built

ok, first, Jerome, when you were talking about a 0.95-1 tag in CVS, you
were talking about a 0.95.1 release ? I though it would only be a tag in
CVS that's all (maybe I can remove the old tag and create a new one w
N0.95 is done we said it.0.95.1 is the next release.We tag a NEW release. This is to be sure we don't confuse packages. Le 05-12-10 à 13:46, Youness Alaoui a écrit :no, look, 0.95 will be out, the CVS tag 0.95 isn't the final one, I will retag a 0

And we won't remove it, 0.95 tag is done. You decide to release it or
you go to 0.95.1
Would be too confusing to know if a package is built with 0.95 or the
"next 0.95" , we won't start that.
Correction
no, look, 0.95 will be out, the CVS tag 0.95 isn't the final one, I will
retag a 0.95 and we'll create a new "0.95" release since this one is
hidden from everyone...
now the thing is, one we create the packages, we're still not going to
release!!! because we'll be waiting for the website...

I think you can remove the tag :p
Correction 0.95-1 exists it's the first release for linux packages !!!
It's the 0.95-2 which doesn't exists : cat configure.ac | head -n10
APPNAME=amsn
APPVERSION=0.95
APPRELEASE=1 < You see : it's the release 1 not the 0 one

0.95 exist, the tag is there
0.95.1 doesn't exist yet. We don't have to silitently drop the old
one, we just have to release the 0.95.1 first, that's all. As long as
we decide fast to release or not releasing it..

Nope, never heard of it... The website doesn't say 0.95 exists... so I
don't think it does ;-)
We were testing to make sure it was ready for release, and we noticed
it had a few issues, so we will fix those and release 0.95.

We are only a dozen to know about it !! We can silently drop the old one and
redo a new package :p
It's my opinion and I know it's dirty but it can hide the trouble and we are
able to do a perfect release !!
