I would suggest we restrict ourselves to the domain of this group i.e ARR
and not comment about the rest. I am not sure about how much you have heard
the MDs which you have mentioned, but it is a bit naive to say that the
Burmans and OP Nayyer are suspect on authenticity. I
He was probably one of the very early persons to recognise Rahman's
talent. I remember Shridhar as he spoke about Rahman on the SURABHI
interview of 1992-93. A great association of Shridhar+Rahman has come
to an end by untimely passing away of H Shridhar..
May God give the family of Shridhar,
One of the most brilliant Sound Engineers in India. If A.R.Rahman can be
credited for bringing the international sound to India, undoubtedly, the credit
must also go to H.Sridhar..who must have shared Rahman's vision.
In my opinion, he is the pioneer of international sound in Indian Music.
This is extremely shocking news. Music industry is definitely going to
miss his contribution. May his soul rest in peace. Heartfelt
condolences to his family relatives.
