I did not know that Thamarai won the best Lyricist for the song "Injarungo
Injarungo" from Thenali. Interesting news for me. I have to listen to the song
one more time paying special attention to the lyrics.
Coming back to VTV, maybe the lyrics fits well with the movie, but poetically
speaking

I am of the opinion that VM and Vaali are the best Lyricist A R R has worked
with in tamil. VM- A R R - Manirathnam songs are anyday special, every song
of this combination becomes a evergreen hit, also VM- A R R - bharathiraja's
.I think the director plays a very important role in extracting work
ARR-VM combo is no doubt the best. ARR music best suits for VM words. I never
found any songs of ARR without VM sounded as beautiful as ARR and VM and VM
words never sounded sweeter without ARR. They go together so well. :)
A classic example is Roja.
