how to enable/disable buttons in attachment table

dear list, when one clicks in a attachment table, some buttons such as display/save/... are enabled when an attachment exists. And if no attachment, then the buttons are disabled. Nothing in the logs show how this is performed. How would you build an AL to mimic that behavior. Any idea? Is
